Even though the vaccines say they are thimerosal free they have gotten around the labeling and they still have mercury and many other potentially harmful metals and toxins that SOME children just cannot process. These are the children that end up with developmental delays, autism, and even die from the immunizations and of course there is no way to indicate if your child will be able to process these harmful substances out or not.

I vaccinated my two boys when they were younger, but since I had a very negative reaction to a Hepatitis vaccination and my first son had one to the DTP, which was ignored by the pediatrician's office and I was too naive at the time to consider that this really was a bad sign altogether. Also, we have all been diagnosed with an auto-immune condition (celiac disease), and some research suggests that folks like us should not get vaccinated at all due to the fact that our immune systems do not react in the expected manner (they're hyper-reactive and thus likely why I had the reation to the Hepatitis vaccination).

It is a tough decision either way. It is possible I can get the doctor to write a letter to get the exemption based on a medical condition, but I still view my decision to be a matter of conscience since I really feel that the vaccinations originally added unnecessary toxins to my sons bodies (you would be amazed at the toxic substances found in the vaccinations - formaldehyde and aluminum are a couple).

There is a new book out by Dr Sears called "The Vaccine Book: Making the Right Decision for Your Child" - I've heard that it has information and doesn't really sway you one direction or another.

I have a great suggestion for you, go see an immunologist/allergist prior to your son's vaccines. Also, ask to see the insert from the actual vaccine that they are administering that day to your son.

You are in a great city for this topic, there is a place called THE THOUGHTFUL HOUSE started by a physician whose son is on the spectrum...I bet they could help you with some info.

I am just glad my child is past vaccinations - If I knew then what I know now I would NOT vaccinate my child. I know this causes legal ramifications. There is still mercury in vaccines (they use other names for it). There is even leading vaccine developers who know say it is not the vaccine itself but the way they are manufactured that causes problems.

I had pretty much the same feeling of a magical opening when a supporter sent me an email with a link that she thought I might be interested in. I read with shock and horror, but not disbelief, that mercury IS the ACTIVE INGREDIENT in flu vaccine and that "M", the maker of vaccine-laced flu shots, knows all of the terrible things it does to people who are vaccinated, including children, but uses it anyway.

We cannot confirm that this is really from an insider, nor are we certain that the mechanism of action of mercury as described is correct, but we need to pay attention to what "Steve" (not his real name) is saying:

You should get lots of tips here... many moms are concerned about the sheer number and side effects.

My suggestion is read all the info you get and weigh it against what you, your husband and doctor think.

In my oppinion, there are so many vaccines now, it's helpful to find out which ones are required by law to have the child eligible for public school, and then put put off the rest, spread them out over time.

I read "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Children's Vaccinations" and it was very helpful and is written by a pediatrician, so I respected her opinion. She also gives suggestions to reduce reactions for some of the specific vaccines, i.e., for DTaP--have child drink juice to level out blood-sugar levels....that kind of thing.

Let me know if you have other questions. Beware that you can drive your self close to insanity in this journey. It is worth taking if you can keep it in perspective. The main thing I can suggest, is follow your mommy instincts. God gave them to you and only you have them....daddy does not, g'ma does not, etc. Every time I went with my gut, it has not failed me. My husband now does not question me anymore.
