Do you have a Hobby Lobby store near you? They have lots of different types of albums.
I used to buy mine from Meijer's - they also used to have quite a selection of albums.
Good luck!!
I want the freedom of a scrapbook (inserts). But I need something decently priced. I'm also not into all the extra "scrapbooking" things (themed pages, stickers, etc.). I had just planned on stopping by Michael's next week. Would it be a wasted trip? I checked some online venders, but they all seem so pricey! Any advice appreciated. Thanks!
ETA: I'm considering just buying a 3-ringed binder, book cover, and inserts. Is that tacky? I figure I can always easily move the pictures to a better album when we can afford it.

I've done three ring binders, 8.5 x11 scrapbook paper (usually the big packs) and regular page covers from the office supply stores that are acid free. It works well and is.much cheaper and you can add as ma.y extras as you want. I used to by three ring binders feom Micheals that were made for 12 by 12 paper, not sure if they still have those.
Creative Memories has some affordable options. They have a product called Pic-Folio which is a quick way to make a scrapbook.
The problem with a 3-ringed binder and inserts is that some of your pictures may be damaged eventually, and it might be difficult to move them to a better album when you're ready.
Memory Manager might be a good solution for you. It's a software photo storage and organization program that's really easy to use. You can scan in your photos or transfer them to your computer from your phone or camera, organize them any way you want (by year, by event, by family member, etc) and then when you're ready, you can make a digital scrapbook. But until then, your photos will be safe.
Creative Memories has pre-decorated pages for those not wanting to figure out stickers and themes, they offer blank pages and all kinds of embellishments for those who prefer doing their own decorating, and they have simple plain pages where you can just slip in a photo with no muss or fuss.
Have you seen Project Life??? It's great, easy to use, you can do as little or as much as you like...you'll find all the info. you need at beckyhiggins.com. I have 3 years of a picture-a-day albums, and some days are more "scrapbooked" than others. The supplies are high quality and can be purchased on amazon. Good Luck!
