Looking for Suggestions on Towns to Move To

We are looking to move our family in the next year or so. However we are having a hard time deciding on what town/community would be best for us. The things that are important are the school districts, park district, close to shopping, nice community with young children, etc. We are not big fixer upers so a newer house is what we would be looking for with at least 4 bedrooms. Do you love where you live and if so why? Looking for any suggestions on good towns/communities to move to. We currently live in West Dundee and would like to stay in the northwest suburbs.

What can I do next?

School districts- 308 is one of the best in the country, hands down. Very impressed.

Cities- Montgomery, IL
You get a lot for your money. Shopping is everywhere and there are tons of kids with newer houses.

Neighborhoods- I LOVE mine. Blackberry Crossing West
There are a lot of SAHM's and families with the same vision that you have. Our neighborhood rocks! The houses are nice (Ryland Homes) and the people are awesome. I am so glad that we moved here.

If you have more specific questions, feel free to ask.

I'm in Crystal Lake. I live in the old section, but the newer houses are nice too. District 47 has great schools and high test scores. I would avoid Cary (district 26), because this week their school board voted to cut all PE, music, band, orchestra, foreign language, library teachers, etc from all schools k-8. There's trouble in that district right now. I would avoid any areas that in the D-300, as well.

In illinois the oswego, and aurora areas are nice and have good schools. I always loved pecatonica, winnebago, and dixon. They are close enough to big city shopping but have more of a country feel with great schools. I lived in rockford, il for about 23 years. I liked it there because it had everything you could emagine for shopping and restaurant and stuff, but the school distric has gotten so bad there. I would not suggest moving there if you are looking for a good school. Good luck.
