I would try Target, HEB, Fiesta, and Pinata Party Palace on east Cesar Chavez: http://www.pinatapartypalace.com/
I'm havig a dandy of a time trying to find an actual spiderman pinata for my upcoming child's birthday party. The pinatas I find are ones that don't look like very much fun. You pull a string and out comes candy. Woo hoo! (not)
So if you know of any place that sells the real deal (where you hit the pinata with a stick) and they are in the shape of a spiderman, a spider, or any part of a spiderman, please send the info my way.
Thanks!
Jen

Hey we have a restaurant on the eastside downtown there are about 5 or 6 places that have pinatas good ones east first street same as east caesar chaves..good luck
Head on down to East Austin. There are several places on Cesar Chavez St (East 1st). You could try Fiesta (grocery store) as well. I've tried Party City each year hoping the selection improves but it hasn't so far. Their pinatas are too small for the price and they don't have much.
Get on the phone and call Fiesta Grocery store in Austin on IH35. Also call the "Pinata Party Palace" on Casar Chavez.. Remember "Spiderman" is a copyrighted Character, so there may not be an actual "Spiderman", but if you can find an action hero pinata, it is easy to cover it and make it look like "Spidy".
I have made over many, many pinatas to make them match the event and it is pretty easy if you have the form..
There's a place just off I-35 (on the west side) right before you hit the split if you're heading south... i've never been there, but its a store that specializes in pinatas. its called Ruth's (something). its brightly painted, you can't miss it. hope this helps you.
