My son and his wife and children live in San Tan Valley and know a lot of other families there. Maybe they could help you find someone to have play dates with. E mail ____@____.com luck!

Hi T., I'm in Gilbert, right down the road from you. Check out our church website: http://www.Freshwaterchurch.net. We meet at a school over by you. Also, join meetup.com, its free. Search "mom groups" and there are a ton. The more people you meet, the more contacts you will have to see if anyone can help with a job. I hope you find something, good luck!

Check your town's recreation & parks department, check the library for story times or play groups, put a flyer on the children's library bulletin board (either asking to join or offering to start a play group), find out if there is a Newcomers Club, see if there is a YMCA or a Jewish community center (both admit members who are of any religion so don't let the name discourage you!), and go to the park or pond.

For work, you'll have to give more info on your skills and needs. I'm sure your state has an office of employment but also visit local stores, coffee shops and some of the centers mentioned above to look for help-wanted listings.

Use employment and "play" connections to network for the other category - let play date companions know you are looking for work, for example. At your town offices, look for want ads as well as sources of entertainment/socialization. Sometimes childhood centers let you work in exchange for free programs for your child - don't know if that interests you.

Just get out there and be friendly and eager to meet people, and let your enthusiasm carry you!

Welcome to Mamapedia!

I would first suggest that you take your daughter to the park, to the library, find a church. I'm sure you'd find many kids for her to play with and you would also meet the parent(s) & hopefully they would be able to give you some ideas on where to apply for work.

Good luck!

check out meetup.com also - for moms groups near you, etc. And also for seeking employment groups. If you belong to a church, ask them about resources for both. Good luck!

For work, try applying to a Temp agency.
Lots of people get permanent jobs that way. And some temp agencies, if you are full time, they will also provide health insurance.

Join Mommy groups/play groups in your area. And network with the other Moms you meet.

Welcome to mamapedia!!!

You moved to AZ without a job?! That's brave!! Here is a link to employment centers in San Tan Valley, AZ

http://localdirectory.azcentral.com/san-tan-valley+az/emp...

http://arizona.hometownlocator.com/local-jobs/jobs,zipcod...

I would browse through the listings and find out what I'm qualified for and start applying for them.

You don't say how old your daughter is - that might help. As people who live near you might be able to hook you up with other moms with kids your age.

Another site to try is http://www.meetup.com

I would go to my local library for reading time - I'm sure they have reading time for kids there - and you will meet other parents with kids. Here's a link to libraries in San Tan Valley, AZ.

Check out our local YMCA - you will find people with kids there as well.

Getting a job and getting settled would be my priorities. Finding a good school for my child and a place to live. I don't know why you would move to a place where you have no support or family. Probably not my business but it would help explain why you moved to a place with no support, etc.

Good luck!!
