We justfound out that our Passat needs a few repairs and the dealership is quoting pretty high on a few things I know can get done at other places besides the dealership. Do any of you know a reputable mechanic that lies somewhere between Carol Stream - Arlington Heights? (Streamwood, Schaumburg, Elk Grove, Rolling Meadows, etc). As we'd like to get a 2nd opinion.
If it matters, the car is a VW.

I have gone to my mechanic forever starting with my mom. He is trustworthy and honest. I trust him with everything. He is located in streamwood behind all the stores or off Irving Park Road passed the gas station. His store is called village garage. I would trust what he as to say and he is open at 8 am. I hope this is helpful

I have a close friend of our family that has been working on our cars and trucks for years. He owns a shop in Schaumburg and is very reasonable.
