I just adopted a 9 day old gorgeous baby boy. I have to stay in MA until the finalization but I live in Wethersfield Ct and I am looking to establish a Pediatrician for my son. I would love for the Dr to be affiliated with Childrens Medical center in Hartford. I dont have any idea how to pick one, so I am looking for some suggestions or referals. i am new to this parenting thing and could use any advise possible. Thank You
Glastonbury would be pretty close for you. I see Dr. Steven Craig at Somerset Pediatrics. I love him! It will be better for your son when he is older too because Craig is a man.

There are many fine Pediatricians in any town. Talk to moms in your neighborhood, at church, etc., . . . then, choose a recommended practice that is closest to your home. Because, you will be going there a lot! Never underestimate the importance of proximity. Good luck, and blessings to you and your family.

This may be a little further than you want to go, but our pediatrician is FABULOUS! His name is Matteo LoPreiato, and he's in Berlin (website - berlinpeds.com). He's a solo practice physician, so that means anytime you go, you will always see him. He also answers questions by phone every day (you can call and speak directly to him, a lot of times immediately). He's really wonderful. You can also

We go to Somerset Pediatrics in Glastonbury (right over the Putnam Bridge). They are all pretty nice, knowledgable and since it is a bigger practice, always either have an office open, or are on call.
