My daughter, Olivia, is 4-years-old and has had preschool experience in the past. However, due to circumstances, I came home from work last summer and cannot afford childcare for my 2 children now especially since I am expecting baby #3 in June. I have applied for a couple of programs and financial aid for preschool funding, but in the meantime, I'd like to find some other sources as well as some either free or inexpensive activities for children her age over the spring and summer. Any suggestions are great! She is bored at home and needs the socialization.

Keep your ears open for the summer Rec Center program sign ups. They will start taking registrations some time in May I think for most of the centers and it's like $30 a week...at least at MY rec center in Norfolk...but there is a limit as to how many kids they can take in. Usually parents go the night before and sit and wait in line just to get a spot!!
Good luck!

My son is 5 and he started last year at Providence Christian Schools/daycare. I love it there they really care about the childern and it's not expensive at all, I pay 105 a week but that is full day every day. They have 1/2 days and partial week programs.
It is in Chesapeake off Providence Rd.
I am new here but have you checked out the local YMCA? The one at my moms here offers quite a bit and at a discount rate for members. It is worth checking out.
