I am looking for a playgroup for my son (22 months). My husband is off an Mondays and grandpa watches him the rest of the week. We would like him to have a little more interaction with other children to help develop his social skills. We live in Greendale so would like something in the area

What can I do next?

You can find dozens of playgroups, moms groups (which include activities for kiddos)etc., at Milwaukee.BabyZone.com -- I've attempted to put in a link to their parent groups / play groups page here: http://milwaukee.babyzone.com/parentresources.asp?prid=51.

Look into your local library. I know that the Muskego library has different activities that are free to local residents and I'm sure that your local library will have something. I took my son to a story time at the lib. They hold it in one of the rooms off to the side and let the kids play together after the story. It's nice because whatever the weather, they can always get together. Also, I don't know how Grandpa likes driving downtown but the Betty Brinn Children's Museum is fantastic (although I think a little pricey). You could get a membership then they wouldn't have to pay when they go. I went recently with my son (for the first time) and couldn't believe how much there was for him to do! And there is a ton of kids down there that have to share and interact.

Bay View isn't that far from Greendale, the Bay View Community Center has a great playgroup 6 days a week, MTRF 9:30-12:00, W 1:30-3:30 and Sat. 10-12. You do need to pre-register, but it is super-cheap. Look in the phone book or on the web for their phone number to get registration info.
