Hi! I've found a great pediatrician in Roseville. He's in the Sutter Medical Group and his name is James Day. The number is ###-###-####.
My daughter is 9 months old and we just had her well baby check yesterday. I am not pleased with her pediatrician, as I don't feel he is very thorough. I have never really been thrilled with him but yesterday was the final straw. The amount of time that he is actually in the room is 1-2 minutes. Granted, I understand a lot of times the doctors are able to visually see any problems going on, however he never asks me any developmental questions and he doesn't go over what she should be doing. I try to educate myself and be her advocate, but this is my first child so I'm afraid I might miss something and I don't have too much faith that he would catch it. At this last appointment, he checked her eyes, ears, and mouth, listened to her lungs, asked if I had any questions & was gone. He never opened her diaper, checked her hips, etc. I guess I'm looking for someone a little more involved.
Like I said, I'm in the Sacramento area and my daughter is on Healthy Families (HealthNet). If anyone has any recommendations of good pediatricians and if you don't mind explaining why you are recommending them. Thank you so much!

There is a pediatrician at the Mercy Medical Group on Folsom Blvd in Midtown by the name of Dr. Marie Claude David. She takes Healthnet and is a very good doctor. She was my pediatrician when I was little and she still remembers who I am and stops my mom in the hall way there to ask how I am doing. She treats kids like they are real humans and not little pets. As well, she is always welcome to any questions you have. I have been trying to get my son switched to her but we are on Medical and they don't want to qualify us for healthy families and she doesn't take the type of medical that we're on. I wish you luck on your search.
Both of my kids go to Dr. Khaira.. I really like him cuz when my 5 yr old was coughin and we couldnt figure it out he had her cough and he was listenin and he found out that her airways was closing up on her... I was so thankful that he found that cuz i dont want anything happening to her... Also at dr. khairas office is another ped.. her name is Dr. Sekar... and we see her also.. shes really nice and will answer any questions u have. his office is 1355 florin rd...
I love my pediatrician. She is Dr. Jill Walsh and is with Mercy Medical Group. She is located on Coyle Ave. in Carmichael right next to Mercy San Juan Hospital. She takes a lot of different insurance plans. She is very patient, asks me a lot of questions and always spends the time to answer my questions. I always go in with a list or I will forget. She is pretty easy going also. I wanted a female pediatrician - I just feel they know more about being a "mommy" than a man would even if he does have kids. Good luck!
My children are also on Healthy Families. Ever since my 7 year old was born we have had Dr.Suzanne Gibbions @ South Sacramento Kaiser. She was also my sister in law's (who are now 25 & 27) pediatrician, so she has been there a while. Dr. Gibbons always shows concern with all three of my boys. I don't feel rushed or like I can't ask her questions. I love her as our pediatrician. Check her out on their website. Good luck!
My pediatrician is great. Dr. Jeanette Frei is her name and she is an General Practioner who specializes in OB/GYN. What's great is that she can see me and my kids. She delivered both of them and has now been there to watch them grow. She has a new partner now named Dr. Karnani and I've seen her too. I like her as well. They both have taken time to talk to my KIDS and not to me. The best thing for you to do is to go and visit with any doctor who you are considering.
Their offices are located right across the street from Methodist Hospital off of Bruceville.
Hi S.! I totally know how you feel I am actually going through the same dilemma with Kaiser right now. However, when I had my son (he is now 23 months) his pediatrician was Dr. Farrell (he is not with Kaiser). He is absolutely amazing and wonderful with children and parents! Here is his contact information: Farrell, Robert MD - Sutter Medical Group Pediatric - ###-###-#### - 5301 F St Ste 220, Sacramento, CA. I would assume that they take HealthNet. Good luck!

Hi S.,
I take my daughter to Dr Maney in roseville. I know its not exactly Sacramento, but he is wonderful. He plays with my daughter a bit and talks to her, pretends that cats are in her ears when he checks them and cows in her mouth! She likes going to him and he really gives me a lot of info on whats going on or what to expect. He is very patient and spends about 15 mins in our room for a check up. He is a UC Davis dr. He always asks development quetions and checks her diaper. I saw him once at the used bookstore we go to and my daughter had something going on with her finger (slammed it and the nail was coming O.. I didn't realize she had slammed it) he looked at it right there and said well you know nails take a long time to grow. . . he was very through and then I felt bad afterwards about asking him a questions on his day O., but he was very nice about it. He even recongnized my daughter right O. the back. Hope this helps let me know if you are interested and I can give you the number. I know that he normally accepts new patients.
