Hi - I am looking for parenting forums for kids in the tween years. I used to go to urbanbaby and loved that you could ask a question and get an instant answer(s) - Do you know of any forums out there for parents of older kids?

What can I do next?

Thanks all for your responses. I'm going to post again with my question.

I know what you mean (my daughter is 11). I use Mamapedia but I do find that many, sometimes most, of the questions on any given day are either about young children (potty issues, sleep issues, discipline issues) or adult family members (my MIL issues, my BIL/SIL issues, my elderly parents, etc.). There are indeed questions on here about kids from tween years through early 20s but they are not nearly as prevalent. Do try a post here and you will get good advice; you just won't see loads of other questions about this age group. I would like for someone to come up with a forum with threads for "elementary years," "middle school years, " etc. Perhaps that would encourage more folks to post more questions about those age groups. But frankly there are some days I look on Mamapedia and, much as I really do like the forum, I say, "Another day of all potty and sleep questions" and I log off, especially if the questions are virtually identical to ones that get posted here all the time....

People here have kids of all ages. You just throw a question out there and see what you get.

In my case my youngest is 10 and my oldest is 24 though I refuse to use the term tween. It just wreaks of making kids think they are older than they are.

This is the one I use.. and my son's 9.

People here range from first time parents of newborns to seasoned survivors of grown children, as well as grandparents and great grandparents.

This is a VERY diverse forum; ages (as you see), geography (all over this country, and a few other countries), socioeconomic, parenting styles, parenting methods, many different religions, full political spectrum, both/all sexes (although moms outnumber dads), sexual orientation, single / partnered/ married/ separated/ divorced, races, educational background, SAHPs/ WAHPs/ WPs, birth parents/ adoptive/ foster/ kinship providers... We've got almost everyone.

Is MP specifically for older kids? Nope. Nor babies/toddlers/etc.

It's a Mama Gump box o chocolates 'round here.

I think you found it - and it's us.

I have a 23 year old, 13 and 10. Plus I raised a brother and sister, both in their early 40's. I've been parenting a long, long time.

I absolutely love this site. You'll get feedback from every walk of life.
