Looking for Other Mothers of Infants to Get Together with in Oak Lawn

I live a little ways from you in Mokena and I am 38 years old. I have a son who is 19 months old and I am expecting my second child in September. I am not from this area so I am always looking to meet more people.

After my son was born I did attend the Nursing Moms group through Palos. I met some great moms (who have become great friends) through that group and they have playgroups and plan some great activities. They group is widespread through the south suburbs...Oak Lawn, Palos, Orland, Mokena and even Chicago. We also have Mom's night out sometimes.

Feel free to contact me and we can plan a date at a park or something.

There is also a Stroller Strides that meets at Chicago Ridge Mall (or at least, they used to).

Congratulations on your little boy.I have a 2yr old boy also and another boy on the way. Since you live in Oak Lawn I highly recommend you enroll your little boy in tot classes. My cousin who lives in Oak Lawn recommended me to them and I love them. I have been taking tot classes since my boy was 6 months old and he loves them and has learned so much. It's a great way to interact with other mom's and the classes are great for your little boy. The classes are located on 10444 S Central in OakLawn Racquet, Fitness and Gymastics Center. You can go and pick up a guide for the new classes that most likely start in the Fall. I hope this helps and maybe I will see you there in in the Fall :)

Those are all good suggestions you're getting. I'm new to this website. I'm in a group called PACES South (Parent and Child Education & Support). They're a non-profit run 100% by mom volunteers and plan monthly tot outings all around the south suburbs, plus Mom's Night Outs, monthly meetings with professional guest speakers and they even have a Playgroup Coordinator who can connect you with other moms who have kids similar in age to yours and close to where you live. I'm in my 6th year with PACES and am volunteering as regional director now.

Meetup.com is a great place to either find an existing playgroup, or start one of your own. I've made lots of new mommy friends by joining a couple of moms groups in my area this way.

I also live in Oak Lawn (103rd and Cicero) and don't know anyone with kids other than two neighbors who live further down the street. The moms are from this area and already have their social networks established.

My kids are a bit older (17 months and just-turned 3), but I would like to meet other moms.

Also, I am planning to join a Stroller Strides in Orland. It's an exercise group that meets in the mornings in either Orland or Tinley and they also have Mom's Night Out and Date Night and other fun things for the parents.

I live in Palos Hills, but am always in Oak Lawn for this and that. Actually, we just went to the sprinkler park yesterday.
