I am looking for a new OB in St Louis, preferably at Barnes or Mo-Bap. I would prefer someone who is supportive of breastfeeding and VBAC, and also makes you feel like a participant in your health care. My gripe with my current OB is that he makes pronouncements about how things are going to be rather than involving me in decision making. It cuts off all dialogue and any questions I might ask.

C.,
I would recommend Dr. Claudia Krasnoff at Mo Bap. She is very supportive of breastfeeding and any will address any questions or concerns that you have. I don't know her stand on V BAC. I originally set up a consultation visit with her when I was picking a new OB. She took the time to talk about herself and then I asked about 20+ questions. She never made me feel rushed or a bother to her. She is a very calm and patient OB.

C.,
My OB delivers at Barnes and her name is Jacqueline Turner. She is very easy going, a good listener, supportive of breastfeeding and she followed our birth plan. I do not know her number offhand, but you could call Barnes to find out. She is also the only OB in the area that performs water births, so she is very open minded. I hope this helps.
hi, i love my ob. his name is dr. john k. applebaum and he is at mo bap with the womans care consultants. the ####-###-####. i always sch. first in the morning or right after lunch, so you don't have to wait long , otherwise you wait a long time. and i've found that he runs behind because he is really thorough and spends alot of time with answers to questions and explaining things. he was awesome while i was pregnant. the nurses are good and they can always answer your quesstions over the phone. i hope this helps.

Hi C.! I have a wonderful OB/GYN. She did not deliver my son but, have been seeing her for a couple of years and just love her. I want to get pregnant just so she can deliver my baby! HaHa! She is with Consultants in Women's Healthcare at 3023 N. Ballas Rd, Ste. 440; Bldg D. The phone # is ###-###-#### and her name is Jennifer Smith. She is wonderful. She did her residency at Barnes and delivers at both Barnes and MoBap (I believe). I don't know her views on breastfeeding or VBAC but, she has a great bedside manner, is supportive, and really listens to you. I never feel like she is rushing me to get out of her exam room. Hope that helps! Good luck in your search. J. S.
Dr. Janet Matuszek ###-###-####) is WONDERFUL. I've had two completely natural births under her care and I strongly believe, had I stayed with my old doctor, that I would have had medical interventions with one or both. She's gentle, patient, and will make you confident that she has your best interest at heart. I know she delivers at MoBap, not sure about Barnes. Best wishes!
BTW, my girlfriend used her for an attempted VBAC. Unfortunately she had to c-sect again due to breech, but Dr. Matuszek was supportive & understanding right up to the end of her pregnancy, not pressuring her to "go ahead and schedule" another c-sect weeks ahead of time the way most docs would do.
C.,
Dr. Jacob Kelin is chief OB at Missouri Baptist. I have been going to him for over 9 years now and I just had my second child. He is hands down the best doctor I have ever had. Many of my friends go to him as well and they love him just as much as I do. You sometimes have to wait while at your appt. b/c he gives great attention to his patients. So you really don't mind waiting at all b/c he's worth it! His # is ###-###-####.
Below is a referral for Dr. Claudia Krasnoff. She is in the same practice and Dr. Klein (Suburban OBGYN). I have a friend who goes to her and likes her very much as well.
Dr. Timothy Philpott at mobap is wonderful-all the mobap ob rns go to him thats how good he is!
i can recommend my ob group, ob/gyn health partners at gravois and 270 -- ###-###-#### my dr is rene stein but im not sure she is taking new patients. however, another dr there -dr glass- i know is taking new patients and he is wonderful. rene seen me through three pregnancies but because of timing dr glass delivered my last instead of rene. i have referred three or four other girls to this office and they all love it. ive had the chance to see all the doctors at that office through each of my pregnancies and they are all very down to earth, respectful of your choices doctors. i had all my kids at st johns, but i dont think they only go to st johns. good luck.
Hi C., I am in the same boat as you, i am due in April of next year also. I go to a wonderful OB. He is located off of Olive and 270, i don't know if that is somewhere you would be willing to go. But, i went to him for my other daughter too. He delivered her, and he goes to Mo Baptist, that is where i had my first daughter. Let me know if you want his name and number. He is very helpful, listens, and is just all around wonderful. The staff at his office is just as wonderful.
My OB is great. She has been my doctor during 2 pregnancies and she is wonderful. She is based out of St. John's. Her name is Dr. McBride and her number is ###-###-####. The other doctors in her group are also good.
