Dr Carla Pearman OB/GYN, she located at St Joseph hospital and St Lukes East in Lees Summit. She is WONDERFUL!! She is with Rockhill Womens Group.
I am in the Raytown area and am looking for a new doctor. We are thinking about having another baby and I would like to get established with someone fairly soon. I will possibly be considered high risk with the next one so I am really looking for an OB that is very good at communicating and listening to my concerns. I had a wonderful doctor with my first baby but moved and was not so pleased the second time around. If anyone has an OB who is wonderful and still accepting patients, I would appreciate any suggetions and possibly some stories as well.
I should add that my insurance is UHC so it would be helpful if you know that they take UHC. Thanks.

I don't kow if KUMed is to far but I had my 3 children there and had to have an emergency c-section with one and they were FABULOUS!
KUMed has the latest of everything and are on the cutting edge! I am biased though, my husband is a doctor there in another department!
My doctor was John Calkins who I would also recommend but heard all are good!
My first I had at womens northland clinic but they will only deliver at St lukes on Barry road now
My 2nd and 3rd were Midwest Womens Health Care by a doctor Howard Schwartz
he has been a doctor for over 25years and a high risk
the thing bout this clinic is the doctor you see delivers you
they have a clinic at NKC Hospital or Research medical center
I have gone to Northland Womens Clinic for many many years and I delivered both my boys with them. They are out of St Lukes Northland hospital and located next to the hospital on barry rd. in the northland! I know many people that go here and are very happy.
Hi C.. I also went to Independence Womens Clinic and my primary O.B. was Dr. Hall. I was high risk because of my age and because of problems with my previous pregnancies. My niece who was also high risk suggested Dr. Hall. I was very comfortable from the first day. Dr. Hall is very down to earth and listens very well. I ended up delivering 8 weeks early and during what seemed like a very long stay in the hospital met all of the other Drs. in his practice. I thought all of them were great. My little guy spent 2 weeks in the NICU at centerpoint and they were great also. Dr. Hall knew what to look for in my health and acted on it immediately, which made a perfect outcome for me and my son. Anyway, I thought it was very low stress which allowed my pregnancy to be more fun.
Dr. Fredrick Lintecum has an office at St. Luke's on the Plaza and in Lee's Summit. He is the absolute BEST.
C.,
I would suggest a midwife. I used to be ver nervous when someone would mention the term "midwife". However, I started seeing mine before I got pregnant. With her help, I conceived and saw her throughout my entire pregnancy. (I am also high risk) Never in my life could I have ever imagined that I would get the care I needed from someone not termed a "doctor". My son is now 16 months old and I am expecting my 2nd child. Yes, you guessed it, I still see my midwife. With midwives the decisions are YOURS. (within medical reasons of course) Midwives now deliver in hospitals as well as the home. (I had my son in a hospital) Anyways, it's just a suggestion. You can contact me if you have more questions and I would be happy to help you along.
Good luck!

I go to Healthcare for Women their in the new Centerpointe building in Independence but they also deliver at St. Mary's. I've seen all the doctor's in that group and like everyone. Dr. Carpino is who delivered my son and I really like her also Dr. Adams is one of everyone's favorite's he's very easy to talk to and explains everything very well. They also have a midwife there too. Good Luck!
I suggest Dr. Robert Chang at Associated Women's Care. They have offices in Blue Springs, Lee's Summit near Lakewood and Blue Springs. He is great and 3 of my friends have had their babies with him too. He is really great with the older siblings who come in for the regular appts.
Good Luck!
I go to the same place as Wendy (she responded too). We go to Indep. Womens Clinic. I have seen all of the doc. that she mentioned and loved them. My actual dr was Dr. Caffrey-WONDERFUL! I loved him. He reasured me on all of my concerns and he is very REAL and DOWN to EARTH!
I recommend Dr. Newby at Kansas City Women's Clinic. She has 2 locations: one at St. Luke's South off of Metcalf and another off of Quivera. When my pregnancy turned high-risk, she referred me to Dr. George Lu down on the Plaza. He was her mentor in medical school, so obviously it was a very invested referral. My best friend also sees another OB in her practice. Wonderful place (and they take UHC - I know because that's what I have as well)! www.kansascitywomensclinic.com
I recommend Dr. Malaika Woods (or any of the doctors in this office) at Associated Women's Care. They have offices in Raytown (near 63rd and raytown rd.), Lee's Summit, and Blue Springs. I have been going to them since 1999. I had a high risk pregnancy (older, multiples, and diabetes), and they made it a wonderful experience. As far as insurance goes, I don't know if they take yours or not. Good luck in your search!
Hey C. my OB was and still is the best. His name Dr. Alexander Capelli and he is very down to earth and he listens and cares. He has 16 years experience and we just love him. He has an office at the medical bldg next to St. Joe on stateline and an office in Lee's summit off of 3rd street. I was high risk as well due to high blood pressure and fibroids. I ended up delivering at 24 weeks but he had everything in place because he was concerned that I would go early we just didn't think that early but because of his concern for me and the baby he had been making contacts with Children's Mercy Doctors and the neonatal nurse practitioner at St. joe so they were right there at delivery and got my baby down to CMH as soon as possible she was 1lb 9oz and now is 6lbs 4oz and on her way home. He took very good care of me and my baby and he is a joy to be around he makes you feel comfortable and the nurses at st. joe love him and st. joe is a wonderful place as well. The office number is ###-###-#### you can tell him N. Collins recommended him to you. My family practice doctor recommended him to me and I am so glad she did.
I absolutely LOVE my OB.I see Dr Lemberger in the Independence Women's Clinic.Which is now located in the offices right next to the center point hospital.I have had three high risk pregnancies that all ended in c-sections,which all went real well. She listens to your concerns and will take the time to explain things to you.Although she is my favorite they are all good doctor's.

Hi C.,
I go to the Independence Womens clinic. I see Dr. Lemberger. she has delivered 3 of my 4 kids. I am/was very pleased with her and I would recommend her to anyone. She listens to all of my concerns and even when I thought about going with pregnancy #4. I explained to her all my feelings and she helped me sort them out in someways. I have also seen Dr. Amy Trout there and Dr. Timothy Hall. The whole group is very nice. They are now located at the new Centerpoint Hospital here in Independence. I hope you find a new Dr and good luck with the next pregnancy. W.
