Looking for Input on the Roomba or Scooba

I run a daycare on top of having my own two kids and a husband who is working full-time and going to grad school and a dog and my house gets crazy, especially our kitchen floor which is white tile. To keep it looking presentable I would have to mop it at least 3 times a day which is just not going to happen :) We have hardwood in all rooms except the kitchen, 3 baths and the daycare area. I looked at review online and they seem pretty good, but my skeptic husband thinks that they must be fake reviews placed by the company. I would love to be able to simplify my life a little and if these little guys do what they are supposed to it would really help.

I also have a very bad back and had back surger a year ago so it would help take the strain of my body too.

I want to hear good and bad because I don't want to waste my Money on something that costs soooo much.

THANK YOU!

So What Happened?

I did it, I got the roomba and the scooba and so far I know I LOVE the roomba and want to get one for every room in the house! I can believe how well they actually work. Just yesterday I left a bunch of peas on the floor from lunch, which normally are a pain in the but to clean up, and that Roomba got ever last one of them! So thank you for all your responses!!

I am still deciding on the Scooba. I think for the price it should do a bit of a better job, but I have some time left to decide.

I have the Scooba and love it! I have vinyl in my kitchen and it does a good job of cleaning it well. The only problem I've run into is that it sometimes gets stuck under my cabinets and needs to be moved. Otherwise, it keeps my kitchen floor clean with a 1 1/2 year old and a dog.

I have a roomba and love it, love it, love it. It does a great job and is so convenient to use. My mother in law bought a scooba on ebay, it was refurbished so it cost a great deal less than a new scooba. She really loves hers also. She says it does a better job than when she mopped the floors. She has nothing but good things to say about it. I am saving up for one myself.

I have been using scooba regularly for about an year now and I absolutely love it. I have white vinyl in my kitchen and sunroom and tiles in my entry way and mudroom. I also have carpal tunnel on my hands so that makes moping very difficult. Scooba has been a blessing for me. I bought it from Samsclub when it was on sale and got a good rate. It keeps my floors clean and tidy and ready for company. Only drawback I need to move my chairs so that scooba can move without obstruction. Sometimes scooba does get stuck in the edge of the carpet.I started using the invisible walls which came in the package and it does not go to the carpet anymore. I would say go for it.Its worth the high price. Iam hoping to get a roomba soon too.

I do not personally own either, but I have seen a lot of reviews and they are pretty much novelty products. They are not nearly as effective as a regular vacuum or mop. This is what I have found anyway. Good luck!

We LOVE our Roomba. I agree with the other poster. I wish I could afford a Scooba. We also have mostly hardwood floors (on the East Side too!) and it really does clean the floors well. The only thing you have to do is make sure the floor is free of clutter and move any furniture that it won't fit under. You would do that with a traditional vacuum anyhow.

I don't work for Roomba and I think it is great. It has really helped to maintain our house a little better. And yes, my 1 1/2 year old thinks it's hilarious.

I love my Roomba! I wish I could afford a Scooba but maybe someday. The Roomba has been good. I like being able to vacuum while I get other things done. You do need to be prepared to maintain it (cleaning the filter and the brushes regularly), but it is very simple to do. We have owned ours for 2 years and it has recently started having trouble seeing drop offs like it used to. It took a tumble down the stairs so now we use the sensors to block off any drops. Other than that it has been fabulous. My sister recently bought a Roomba also and loves it. Tell your husband that they really do work and kids LOVE them.
