Hi my name is S., I am a first time new mom and wondering if anyone knows anything about the daycare center, Honey Tree Early Learning Center on N. Clark Street. I am considering sending my daughter there and I can't find much information about their reputation.

What can I do next?

hi. i checked the place out but was very unhappy about it. first the place is small. the classrooms are in an area were then vent/pipes are on all day long so there is this loud constant noise. I am surprised the kids can learn and sleep in these rooms. And lastly, when we visted there were 4 kids crying and no one was attending to them. I hope this helps. The owner though is very helpful.

Though I don't have any experience in using Honey Tree, I recently heard positive things about it while researching daycare options for my infant son. A "friend of a friend" had her daughter attend Honey Tree from infancy to age 5 and was very happy with the experience. For a brief period prior to Honey Tree, she also had her daughter at Corporate Childcare Consultants (another infant daycare in the Loop at 219 S. Dearborn) and felt that Honey Tree was far more organized, cleaner, and overall a better environment for her child.

Also, I know that there's a website, www.northsideparents.org that has some feedback from parents on various daycare centers in the city, including Honey Tree. You have to pay a membership fee to join the network first in order to access the info, but it may be worth it.

Hope this helps.

I do not know much about their reputation (they are on Clark & Lake, above the food court?) but I was wondering if you had already spoken to them. I attempted to get my daughter in at about 9 months and they said that up to 15 months, spaces are reserved for city and state officials, attorneys, judges, etc. With such stiff criteria, they are probably well qualified as child care professionals. Sorry I could be of more help though.

I had the same problem too, but because I was new to the area and did not know anyone. The first thing I did was check to see if the center was Nationally Accredited. I got a list of accredited schools in my area and narrowed it from there by visiting each one. Hope this helps.
