We're looking for an indoor waterpark that we don't need to drive too far from Naperville (ideally within 1 1/2 hrs). I have a 4 & 2 year olds so kiddie pool is preferred as well. Does anyone know of any or have any good experience with any?
Thanks!

Hello-
There is a new water park near the starved rock park. It is similar to a Wisconsin Dells water park. I can't think of the name- BEAR LODGE OR SOMETHING...

Hi C. --
Check out the Grand Bear Lodge just outside of Starved Rock Park near Utica, IL. It's not a bad drive, and the indoor water park is great. We have a 22 month old who had an absolute blast there. They have a zero entry pool and an area for little ones, complete with a little slide. The benefit of Starved Rock made it a weekend destination for us...lots to do.
Bolingbrook Aquatic center has an indoor and outdoor set up. And they have toddler times during the week where there are none of the bigger kids there.... Check out the Bolingbrook park district site, for the BRAC (Bolingbrook Recreation Aquatic Center). It's also called Pelican Harbor.
I know there is a new indoor water park near Starved Rock. It is part of a lodge there. It is probably about 1 1/2 hours from Naperville.
Hi C.,
There is a new resort just outside of Starved Rock with an Indoor water park. The drive should only be about an hour or so. It's called Grand Bear Lodge. Here is the website www.grandbearlodge.com I hope this helps.
I recommened the water park at Straved Rock. It is indoor and I think it is called Great Bear Lodge, but if you go to Starved Rock State Park website it should come up.
It is the perfect size for kids 5 and under, and only 1 hour away. We also went on a weekday and it was empty(and less expensive), we had it all to ourselves.
HAve fun!!
I did a google search for indoor water parks since I could not remember the name of the place I'd heard of. The link took me to:

I'd recently received a flyer for one in Elmhurst, IL (not far from Naperville at all). I've never been there but it sounded like fun. I've been to Wolf Lodge in Wisconsin Dells & everyone in family loved it (daugher was 4, nephews were 3) and even us grown ups kept racing down the slides!!

There is a nice one in Utica not too far from Naperville. Small but a nice get away for a day or 2.
Try the Vaughn Athletic Center within the Fox Valley Park District. You should call ahead to check the specific times of the when the water park is open to the public. The building is just off Orchard Rd on Indian Trail in Aurora. Very nice place.
I know that they just opened a new one in I think Utica/ Starved Rock area. Sorry don't have a name but am quite sure it is now open.
Oakbrook Park District has a beautiful indoor waterpark, olympic size swimming pool & jacuzzi all in the same room. The kids will have a blast & so will you
Grand Bear Lodge in Utica is supposed to be great! My husband knows one of the owners.
My family and I visited a place in Utica, IL called Grand Bear Lodge (866-399-3866). We live on the Aurora/Oswego border and we were in our room in 1 hr and 15 min. It's directly across the street from Starved Rock State Park. They just opened about a year ago. They have a huge indoor water park with a wave pool, on sight restaurant, outdoor mini golf, and good size arcade. They have regular hotel rooms but large families/groups can also rent a villa which comfortably sleeps 9. When we were there last summer they were still building stand alone cabins that sleeps 16-17 comfortably. The nice thing about the villas and the cabins is they have a fully stocked kitchen where you can cook your meals and save on dining expenses. It's a little pricey for the villas, about $300+ per night but if you go with another family you can share the expense. The cost of the room includes the indoor water park. I highly recommend it.
There is the Great Bear Lodge at Starved Rock State Park in Ottawa, Illinois (Never been there, but I heard it was nice).
My family recently went to Timber Ridge Lodge in Lake Geneva. It was great. The rooms are all suites and are huge. We packed food to have breakfast and lunch in the room, so we could save on food costs. The water park was great for little kids. 2 big slides. A little slide play area, lazy river and a medium slide into a big pool. We had a good time. (Don't expect Dells size indoor parks at either place). But affordable, close and rooms are great.

I've heard there's a place called the Center or something like that in Elgin I think it was, and that they have a really nice indoor waterpark that is good for young kids too. I heard it's really nice and a friendly environment and not real expensive. That's pretty much all I know about it. Sorry for the vague answer, but maybe somebody else will mention the same place with more specifics or maybe if you contact the town of Elgin they could tell you or something. They also have other activities and sports there I guess, but they do have a nice waterpark from what I hear.
There is a fun indoor water park in Schaumburg (run by their park district). I think there is also one in Carol Stream (closer, but smaller). Some local hotels (like Pheasant Run) will also let you purchase a pool pass for the day so you can tire everyone out at their pool.
