Hi,

I am looking for a good hair colorist in the Roswell/Alpharetta area. Currently, I go to Bob Steele off of Windward. I like it there - but my stylist has gotten pricey (it's around $140 with tip now for single process color). Also, I wanted to see if any of you have tried the Ensani Institute (Paul Mitchell school) for color/cuts and any feedback you may have on it.

Thanks so much,
A.

Hi A.: I have not been to Essani on Mansell Road in Roswell, however my daughter and grandaughter have been there and love it and the price is certainly right. Best of luck to you

A.- Jesse or Luz (pronounced Loooz) at Scruples In Alpharetta (by the Silos) are excellent colorists...but it will probably run around the same price- for highlights and cut I pay about $120. But you could always call and find out or visit them once and see how you like them.
Tell them NIkki sent you.
good luck
Nikki

I have used the Ensani Institute once. I went in to have my hair cut and colored, but ended up only getting a cut. We ran out of time to do the color. My appt. was at 2pm on a Sat. and they close at 4pm on Sat. and it took the full 2 hours to do a cut. The girl they put me with had just started working with clients and she was very slow. I have heard from others that it is pretty normal for beauty school salons to take this long. These stylist are just learning to cut and color and it takes them a long time to get the cut looking good. Their instructors are at the salon suppervising the entire process they will walk by and say, "check this" or "I think you need to even that out," etc. My only real complant is the amount of time it took. I was fairly pleased with my cut and for $13 I can't really say much. I also must say that everyone that walked out while I was there looked nice. I didn't see any mess ups or any unhappy clients. However, you may do better (especially time wise) to just find an inexpensive salon. If there is such a thing. I too have been looking for such a place. I can't wait to see what other responses you get. I would love to find a reasonable salon or stylist. If there are any stylist out there reading this I definitely think there is a market for mobile stylist: someone that will come into the home and cut/color hair. If your a Mom with little ones, that's fine too, bring your kids with you. They can play with mine (and other Moms' too) while you cut/color. It would be a great way for us Moms' to help each other out. The stylist makes money and the Mom client gets a less expensive do and without having to pay a sitter. If any of you do this or know someone who does please let me know!

Check out Laura at Soda Salon in Roswell (it's right on the square next to J Christophers). She is great and gives the best head massages when she washes your hair!
