I am in desperate need of a good child psychiatrist in the spring, tomball area. My son has severe ADHD, and we are stuggling with medications right now. I have been unsuccessful in reaching his dr. for 3 days, so I am looking to change. Thanks!

Dr. Terry Hugg (Red Oak Psychiatry 17115 Red Oak Dr # 109

Peace,
C.

Dr. John Steffek, on Louetta, a mile or so north of 249. He's fabulous!!! You often have to wait in the waiting room, but if you ever have an emergency, he will get you in right away. My now-adult stepson is bipolar, ADHD, and some other stuff & he literally saved his life a couple of times. We have great respect for Dr. Steffek, and I'm not very impressed by many doctors.

We had disastrous results w/ Dr. Larry Flowers so I would not recommend him. He prescribed mind-altering drugs but wouldn't follow up w/ effects, which were horrible! My husband & I tried to convince his mother to change him but she refused. Thankfully, he does much better now (3 yrs later) that he is no longer medicated!

T., I know how hard it is to find a great psychiatrist. Sometimes it is not all that easy to find one in your area or even on your insurance. I go a ways for my daughter, but I believe should not really matter. She goes to a Dr. Saltzman on Dairy Ashford ###-###-####. He has done wonders with her. Now you know that a psychiatrist is really just there for meds, not counseling. Most of the time they want you to see both. We see Dr. Saltzman for counseling and he works with her pediatrician for the meds. Another great Psychiatrist we have had, but they did not take our insurance is Dr. Walling and he is off of San Felipe near the Galleria. Good luck and hang in there. Just remember there are plenty of us out there dealing with the same thing.
