Anyone have recommendations for a local photographer that is good with young kids and affordable? My son is turning 3 and I'd like to get his pic taken. We used to go to Penneys but I grew tired of the backgrounds and unpredictability of the staff there. We've also used Studio One to One in the Brandon Mall. They did a great job with the pictures but they are a little pricey and I hate how you have to decide which prints you want right there on the spot. I wish they had a play room for the kids b/c my child is inevitably trying to run up and down the mall while I try to select photos!

I have used Kindra Weston 3 times now in the last 1-2 months. At 35 weeks pregnant and for my newborns pictures a week ago. I would highly recommend her. I see that she has already responded to your request below.
I know that some people frown upon it BUT... I have used Walmart's photography studios and have gotten really great pictures - a kazillion pictures for under $12! I have always been happy with them - if you want one basic pose.

I just recently used The Picture People (one in Brandon & Citrus Park Malls) and although they are a little expensive, you can find coupons at their website. I also joined the Photo Club and get free prints. The photographer get sdown on the floor with the kids and has a free digital camera (it is not mounted). They have a plain white background but great props.
Kiddie Kandids is in Babies R Us at the Grove and they always have coupons for free 8x10. After that though, it got expensive. Decent backgrounds and good props.
But, they are both much better than Penneys--my last experience there in March was not good! I will have a hard time going back to them--even as cheap as it is.
