Hey, wonderful moms!! My family is looking for a golden doodle, a labradoodle, or another family friendly breed of nonallergenic dog. I know that there really is no completely nonallergenic dog and that all dogs have some allergens. My kids and I are okay, but my husband still has mild dog allergies. We lived for six years quite nicely with two dachsies, but want to look at other breeds, too. I'm open to any websites, links, addresses of breeders, etc. We're willing to take a puppy or an older dog.
We have a goldendoodle. She is the sweetest pup, exteremly smart, soft, well behaved and easy to train. She does shed a little but I think itk's still her puppy coat coming out and her adult coat coming in.
I found mine on puppyfind.com. I'm sure someone in your area is selling a pup that's right for you. Also, before you shop, check your local humane society and animal shelters to see if they have a dog that might interest you.

labradoodles rock! They run a little larger than the goldens. (ours is at 80lbs & is almost 7 years old.) I also believe they are a little smarter, too....but then I am biased: our labradoodle is the smartest dog we've ever owned. His ability to open doors/gates/etc is phenomenal. :)
As for breeders, check with your local vet & rescue operation. They should know of a reputable one in your area.
If you want to be sure of the temperament, I'd stick with a purebred dog. At the end of the day, labradoodles (and the other poodle-mixes) are mutts. Nothing wrong with mutts, but it's kind of a crapshoot on which genes will be dominant, and you just can't be totally sure what the dog's coat will be like, what its personality will be like, etc. I think you're better off going with a poodle if allergies are a concern - and then do your research on breeders to make sure you're going to someone reputable (go to breed-specific AKC shows and talk to all the breeders you can, meet their dogs, etc). Be sure the breeder breeds away from health issues, and is working toward temperamentally sound dogs (vs breeding only for looks, which an alarming number of them do). Good luck!

It's an organization of great people and they will work with you on finding the right dog for your family. Don't buy a dog. There are plenty available for a small adoption fee that need forever homes.
