Looking for Feedback on Montessori Schools in Plano/Allen Area

I love the teaching philosophies used in Montessori Schools. My daughter just turned 3 and I'm considering Montessori Children's House on Hedgecoxe and Custer. I'm looking for only part-time (3 days per week). Most montessori schools only offer 5 day programs; therefore, I'm somewhat limited in my choices. I would love some feedback on your experiences with that school, or other Montessori schools. I just want to make sure I'm making the right choice. Any comments will be much appreciated!!!!! Thanks!!!!!!

Hi A.,

Our family just moving to Allen and I just went through process of checking out preschools for my 15-month-old daughter. I finally chose Allen Montessori Academy, off Greenville on Pebblebrook, east of I-75. I really don't know much about Montessori, and the places vary in how they interpret the teaching philosophy, but this one seemed very homey, seemed to have low turnover and great sense of community, well-established. We signed up there.

On the other hand, we haven't actually been enrolled yet (June).

Good Luck!

Hi A.,
Just wanted to say I have a friend who has her daughter at Pebblecreek Montessori (near Spring Creek and Coit) and loves it. They have had her there part time for almost two years now. My friend is the first to admit that she has extremely high expectations when it comes to service and care. So if she is satisfied, it's safe to say 98% of the rest of the population would probably be very satisfied, too!

Good luck!

Hi! I believe Starwood Montessory off Lebanon and the tollway is great...I am considering that for my 1 yr when he reaches 3. They also offer part-time but its pricey...check it out...my neighbors have their kids there and love it. Good luck!

My daughter will be 3 this Summer, and has been in the Montessori program since she was 2. I can't say enough good things about it. It's true what I've heard that these first years of "education" are the most important - they are the basis of how your child will respond to learning the rest of their life. I have been nothing but amazed and pleased at her progress, and she LOVES school. Some of my friends' kids go to a MDO or daycare situation, and they are all unhappy in one way or another. My school ( A child's Garden in Carrollton) is flexible and will let a child 2-3 yrs old attend only 3 days a week. Just ask around and I"m sure you'll find the perfect place, and be glad you did! Good luck. H.
