I would like to make easter baskets for my youngest daughters' preschool class. She has snack on the last day before easter break and I would like to make easter baskets for the kids. If anyone has directions or patterns to make baskets please let me know. I will be putting a couple of treats in it for the kids. Thank you!!

What can I do next?

This may not be what you are looking for, but one of the teachers did this for one of my kids, and I thought it was a cute idea. Wal-Mart and Target sell these plastic drinking cups with Easter designs on them (they have them during different holidays with different designs, as well). They are in 4 or 6 pks for $1. She put a little easter grass in the bottom of each cup and a couple of little treats. Then the child gets to keep the cup. I love these cups because they are a nice size for kids to drink from, they are dishwasher safe, and I don't care if the kids take them outside. This idea works great for Halloween and Christmas treats too!

A great alternative that is cost and time efficient would be to buy white or brown lunch bags. You fold the bag down to within an inch of the bottom. Take a second bag and fold down to within 2 inches of the bottom and place inside the first one. Take a third bag and fold down and place inside the other two. Cut a handle from a fourth bag and glue in place between the bags. A hot glue gun is great. Then you can decorate or the kids can decorate them any way they choose. I've done these for table decorations and as gifts for "Easter for Kids" at our church.

If it is a project for the kids then go for it. If you are making them for cost savings -- go to target and just buy the baskets. I got a cute blue "wood" one for my son fir .74 cents at Target this past weekend.

Good luck.

An easy way to made a paper holder for Easter candy is using a white paper sack. Cut from open end to make 2 ears. Glue or draw on eyes, a nose and whiskers. We always put a cotton tail on the back. Kids can carry them and put their candy in them.
