Good Afternoon J.,

I have a great referral for you...my son currently goes to Mrs. Fischer daycare home. I have seen everything that Riverforest and Oak Park have to offer. Mrs. Fischer can be reached at 708/771.7496. You can give her a call and see if she has an opening.

Mrs. Kathy Fischer keeps a very clean home. She was a teacher and her husband is a Professor at Concordia University. Huge back yard and planty of educational toys (age appropriate).

I live in Oak Park and when my son was born I looked at just about every day care center in Oak Park and was disappointed by every single one of them. It was important for me to make sure he got fresh air every day (i.e. walks, playground etc) and very few actually had capabilities to do that. The only one that I have heard positive things about is The Giving Tree in Forest Park. I ultimately went with a nanny but you can also call West Suburban Home Day Care Association Referral Network. These are home day care providers which I was actually not too hip on until I met and spoke with them and then I was quite impressed. You may also want to get yourself on the waiting list at Concordia University Day Care - which has an amazing program but like a two year wait.

My sitter may have an opening. Her name is Candy Montanez and she lives on Highland/Jackson. Number is ###-###-####. Her home is very serene and spotless. My baby has been since she was about 8 weeks! Good luck!

Hi J.,
I was looking as you are for the past 2 months and finally found a nanny thru this website, but as far as Oak Park, I spoke with a woman named Candy who is actually from this website also who has home daycare and takes infants and she seemed very nice, and licensed with years of experience and she was cheap! I think it was $195 a week. YOu won't get better than that! I never checked it out because it was too far of a drive to/from work to go out to OP, but if you want her info- either she will respond to your posting thru the site or I can give you her number. Good Luck!

J., my daughter goes to Forest Park Montessori. It's just about 5 minutes from the Metra station, so it's pretty convenient. We've only been there for a couple of months, but so far it's going very well. My daughter is older, but the ladies in the infant room seem very nice. Please feel free to email me if you'd like more info.

I know that there is a school on S. Cuyler called MorningStar. It's a Montesori school. they have a Web site that has information. If you go to superpages.com, you can punch in daycare in oak park and that should show up. I think this is a good place to start.
