I am thinking on selling the clothes that my babies are not using anymore, that way I may get a little extra cash.
Do any one has/know stores you particulaly like? Has anyone had any experience with Childrens Orchard?

Thank you for your help and advice!

What can I do next?

There is a place called Belles and Beaus or something like that in League City - I was very impressed with the items they had. I was on the buying end and not the selling...

Hello,

Childrens Orchard didnt work for me. They dont hardly offer you enough for your kids clothes (in my opinion) but Crayons resale on Westheimer is awesome! They are family owened, friendly and so organized! I highly recommed them.

Check out www.jbfsale.com and see if there is one near you. The lady that runs it in Houston is a sweetheart and it is so fun. It ROCKS!

M., I have sold stuff to childrens orchard. They do pay you on the spot or if you take store credit, they give you an extra 20% more for your items. The pay is OK, however they are EXTREMELY picky. If your clothes look like they have been washed more than a few times, they wont take it. Also, if you do decide to sell to them, make sure you wash everything really good. I took in a bath tub one time and it had a little soap scum in it (so little that I did not even notice it) and she would not take it. I took it again another time after I washed it and she accepted it that time. She really only accepts name brand stuff. Very seldom will she take a item from Walmart or Target even if its in good condition. And if she does take it, you wont get hardly anything for it. Overall, if your looking to get things out of your home and make a little then this is they way to go. Its alot easier than a garage sale. Hope this helps.

Childrens' Orchard buys clothes CHEAP.( like maybe $1.00 per piece)
They pay immediate cash on the spot.
YOu kight get more money from a resale shop where they price oyur clothes a little higher and take a % of the selling price.
you can do a google search of resale shops in your area to find ones close to you.

I know that this post is old - but wanted to pass along some info. I am starting a consignment/resale event here in Houston where you can consign your children's gently used items and make 65 - 80 percent of the sale. Also, you name the price for the items - not me. If you are interested, check out this website: www.ChildrensResaleHouston.com. You will need to put this in the http:// window at top of browser because my site is so new that it doesn't show up with a google search yet. The sale is July 29th - August1 at the Houston Farm and Ranch Club. I hope this helps.
