Looking for Church

Good morning Ladies,

I am looking for a church, I live in Cedar Park, but the church doesn't even have to be that close. We just would really like to find a Word church, where people love the Lord and don't care "about the traditions of men". We have burned a few times in churches, were gossip ran like wildfire, and how much was spent on the chairs was more important the message that was given! Frankly, some of the best churches I've ever been to were held in a person's garage! So if anybody out there can't wait to go their church every week, because you are being feed...we are hungry!

Thank you all so much, who immediately opened their church arms and invited us in! I am thrilled to know, so many people really enjoy their church homes and we look forward to seeing which might be a fit for us. Thank you again.

Austin Stone Community Church. We meet in Stephen F. Austin High School gym. I LOVE our church. None of the gossip or traditional problems I've experienced at other churches in the past.

Our preacher is amazing---so focused on the Word. He preaches differently than any other person I've heard before, in a good way. Worship is fantastic. In addition to church each Sunday, we meet in community groups in people's homes during the week. Our church believes that's where the real church is anyway. Check out the website if you're interested.

I LOVE Gateway! They are at 183 and McNeil (not far from Cedar Park). The services are at 9:30, 11, and 12:30 and the website is Gatewaychurch.com for more info. Their "motto" is come as you are but don't stay as you are. Meaning come grow spiritually and get involved and grow with God. It is not "churchy" at all and the music is awesome! Check it out!

HI K.,
We attend First Baptist Church Pflugerville and absolutely love it. We also went through a phase where we just couldn't seem to find a church that really preached the word it was more about not upsetting anyone in the crowd. I enjoy PVille FBC for many reason. The first thing I noticed was even though it's a large church it has a small church atmosphere. People are concerned when you are sick and pull together to help their classmates in times of need. Our Pastor preaches from the bible and obvious that God is giving him the words to say. Our church is very active in the community and with missions. We help other churches get on their feet, Big contributors for Operations Christmas Child, very active youth, great outreach program, great bible studies, and we are even in the process of building on so we can bring our 2 services together. It has been so wonderful being able to fellowship with fellow Christians who you can tell follow Jesus and we have a lot of fun activities. My son is in Awanas, Children's Choir and will be going to VBS. If you haven't heard of Awanas it's similar to Boy Scouts but with the bible. They earn patches and other items for learning bible verses and being Christian like. I decorate for the Daughter of the King luncheon every mother's day and help with the Christmas Pageant. I was never a really strong Christian until I started going to FBC PVille and was able to see the strength in others and how they helped me stand when I felt things were as low as they could get for me. I hadn't ever seen that in other churches I had attended. Sorry I could go on and on about FBC PVille. I would love for you to visit and see for yourself how God works in our church. Hopefully it isn't too far for you. We are right off of 1825 just past Pflugerville High School. I travel from Round Rock but I know Cedar Park is a little further. If you do decide to visit and looking for someone to sit with let me know I'll be happy to save you seats.
God Bless,
M. :D

We attend Cedar Park First United Methodist. It is on W. Park. Services are at 8:30 & 10:45. Sunday school is between services. They have 2 main adult groups (younger & older) & several childrens classes according to age. The people are unbelieveably friendly. They encourage children to be children and allow them to participate in the services. We have been members for about 2 years and have never felt as blessed as we do now. On June 1st we are having a carnival from 2-4 and it is free. Feel free to come and enjoy the activity and meet some of the people. We are an older couple who also met after several broken roads. We bring our grand children and they cry when they can't go for some reason. I'll be serving ice cream so come and find me if you come. I look forward to meeting you.

Hello K.! I see so many wonderful churches listed. I've heard many wonderful things about all of them. I have attended Austin Christian Fellowship (www.acfellowship.org) for over 7 years and have loved the heart there. In 2003 we just got our building. Its located in Riverplace at 2222 and Riverplace drive (approx.). Its not visible from the road. You can listen to messages online to try it out that way first. But as far as a community, it has been wonderful. Our Pastor is all about small groups and gaining our community there. We have a small group that meets in Deer Creek subdv. once every two weeks. The youth group is strong. Let me know if you want to know more. I'm sure you'll get a lot of responses to your quest!

Hi, K.!

I have a feeling you would LOVE our church - River in the Hills - on 620! There are people of all types there; and the funny thing is, everybody loves each other's differences! Our family just started going there when we moved out to the Lakeway area, but we had visited it once when we lived up your way, and loved it then (about 2 years ago). We definetely are being fed here, and our kids love the youth group. Come by any week - service is at 10:30!

A little about me:
I am a 36 yr old SAHM with a wonderful husband and 4 great kids, ages 14, 13, 9 and 4.

We are in Avery Ranch. We have also attended churches that were more about man-made rules and regulations than the gospel. We now attend the Hill Country Bible Church in Round Rock. It's a bible church, and the people are super friendly. Our pastor is young, but he is gifted. They have great youth programs
We meet at the YMCA off of I-35 in Round Rock. The services are at 9am and 1045am. Please come visit. I think you will like it!

Hi K.,

I attend Agape Christian Ministries here in Round Rock: 1011 Gattis School Road, next to the Shell gas station in the shopping mall. The word is an in time, on time, relevant, clear, and prophetic word, Bishop Wilkerson does teach Tithing, offering and sacrificial giving. It is a true worship experience. Service times are 11:30 am and 12:45pm on Sunday Morning, If you like smaller crowds of people I suggest the 12:45pm service it is a much smaller crowd of worshipers, if you would like childrens' church for your children and teens then 11:30 service would be best and the word is still great then too!!!. If you just want to visit to check it out, then bible class is on Thursday nights at 7pm, or you can go to the website and check out that to listen to a recent message Bishop has spoken: www.agape-cm.org.

I visited the ministry for about 6 weeks, prayed about it and then my children and I joined, they actually like it.

Hope to worship with you!!!!

Shoreline Christian Center on Shoreline Dr and 1325. Pastor Rob and Laura are wonderful pastors, the choir is phenomenal and they just built a brand new children center that is amazing. My husband and I have been there 3 years after blending our families 7 years ago, and now all the children attend even though they are grown, our grandchildren love it.

It's a large church with a small feel. They do a lot to get you involved with home teams and retreats and conferences. We are truely blessed since being there. Our lives have improved for the better.

At little about myself. 47 year old working mom(now) of 20yr and 23 year olds, step mom to 24 and 26 year old and 3 wonderful grandbabies, 15 months 27 months and 7 year old

Good Morning K.,

My family and I attend Hill Country Bible Church Leander.
It is held at the Jim Payne Elementary School in Leander (off Bagdad road). It is a great church. The people are soooo sweet, yet not in to all that gossip stuff. They truly care about each other. We have small groups that meet in peoples homes throughout the week. You get connected to that small group of people and they feel like family. There are groups that meet every day of the week, so you just chose a group that meets your needs and attend that one group, you can attedn different groups to get a feel for them. Right now my group is actually doing a marriage study called Love and Respect. It is really good.
Our pastor, Peter Horn, is so grounded in the word. He actually lives it,not just preaches it. Yet, he is not "holier than thou". His messages are funny and real. You can look at the website and see what you think. www.hcbcleander.com
Good luck on finding a home church!
Oh....my husband and I have only been married 10 months and we used the song, God blessed the broken road, at our reception. That song fits me so well! He has a 19 year old son, 17 year old daughter, I have a 24 year old daughter and 16 year old daughter and a 1 year old grandson! My husband is fantastic and I am truly blessed!
