no you are not too early, I had to wait on list for 6 months before there was an opening for the age level I needed. I would say the earlier the better.
Hi Im new to the web-site, I know am a little early on this. But I will be a first time mother in Jan. Just wondering how soon I should be looking for childcare.

YOu are definitely not too early to start looking for quality child care for your newborn. It took me 8 months. Do you know where you would like to have the daycare. Mpls, etc You could try the greater minneapolis daycare association for referrals ###-###-####.
NOW- finding infant care is hard.
I don't think it's too early to start looking. I think it's easier to visit them now and it's fun to check them out while you're anticipating the arrival of your baby. It's one less thing to worry about while you're on maternity leave.
It's me again! I forgot the link...

Hi! Congratulations on the upcoming arrival! I would suggest that you start looking immediately. I found it to be a challenge to find day care. We started with a nanny and then when my son turned 18 months we started him at a home day care. Again, both searches took quite some time and with the holidays coming up in Nov. Dec, I would suggest that you start looking now. I utilitzed the MN Child Resource Referral Network. If you google them you will come up with their website. I don't recall it off-hand. You have to pay for the list but they'll provide you with all of the licensed home and center day cares in Hennepin County.
GOOD LUCK!
start looking now! infant care can be hard to find and can vary in price. if you are looking for home care, they can only have so many infants at a time. and centers are usually more expensive but can have waiting lists too. do it before the baby comes so you dont worry about it during your maternity leave.
