I have used Dr. Lovinggood in Olathe (151st & Ridgeview) for both of my teenage boys and have had a positive experience.
Hi mamas,
I'm looking for an ortho in my area. I don't know anyone who has had the 'braces experience' recently so I'm feeling pretty clueless. I'd like to not have to pay an astronomical fee for good care if at all possible as my ex-husband is less than dependable when it comes to paying his share. I really appreciate any advice I can get! Thanks!
Thanks ladies for all your information about orthodontists. I got a few replies about Dr. Andrew Young so I think we will meet with him first. You mamas came thru for me again! :D

We have 8 grown kids, 5 had to have braces. But no cavities!!! So we had a 3 orthodontists over the years. The last three kids had Dr. Kelly Toombs in Gardner. He's with Gardner Dental Care as far as using their building and he also has 2 other offices, one in Lenexa and one in Prairie Village. We were very happy with him and he is very good. We met with many orthodontists before we picked him. Dr. Fry does the wide smile and was very expensive in my opinion. Here is the link to the web site.

He would be happy to talk with you and help you make your decision.
Dr. Young is very good in Spring Hill. We have had 2 in braces and getting ready to go to him for our third.
Fry orthodontics on 151st and Mahaffie (just East of I 35) I have not personally used them, but as a hygienist many of my patients did and they were satisfied. I also have a friend I went to dental school with, Dr. Andy Young Orthodonitics 159th and Mur-len. I'm also friends with the dentists who own Arbor Creek Dental if you need a good general dentist. Good Luck. I know it's an investment, but it's worth it! Message me if you have any further questions.
Dr. Andrew Young has an office in Spring Hill and one in Olathe. We LOVE the office!!
Our now 18 year old college freshman went to another local, highly regarded doc who did a good job but the office atmosphere left a lot to be desired. They also kept accounts by hand and I frequently had to point out mistakes on our account.
Dr. Young's office is like night and day!! Staff is warm, inviting and friendly. Dr. Young is personable and good at what he does. And everything is online.
Oh, and from our experience braces are "astronomical" period. Both kids were about the same. We were fortunate with our son and had an insurance that paid almost everything, which was one source of the problem since the first office had no clue how do deal with that.
Our current insurance does not cover orthodontics and Dr. Young's office has a payment plan. They also have a finance plan if you need financing. But we just pay them so much a month that comes straight out of the checking account.
Good Luck.
