Looking for an OB GYN in Pasadena. Any Suggestions?

Hi! My husband and I would like to get pregnant again. Our first pregnancy had a very successful ending, with our healthy little boy. But I was preeclamptic and spent quite a while in the High Risk area of the hospital. Our second pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage. My Doctor is good, and very young, and I am interesting in meeting with a Doctor in Pasadena with quite a bit of experience, that specializes in High Risk Pregnancies. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all SO much!

I also suggestion Dr. Beth Julian-Wang, she was great. She delivered my son at Huntington Memorial Hospital. I have nothing but great things to say about the doctor and her staff. She will be deliverying my next child, without a doubt!

Hello A. ...

I'm a chilbirth educator and lactation specialist at Verdugo Hills Hospital in Glendale. The majority of our OB's also deliver at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena. I'd like to suggest that you shcedule a consultation with ...

1. Dr. Joana Tamayo or 2. Dr. Steve Hartford

In either case, you'll be in exemplary hands.

I sincerely wish you the very best and all the joys in life
and parenting,

M.

I use to live in Glendale when I was pregnant with my first and went to Dr. Merchant. He is older (50's I would say) and was a very nice man. I am not sure if he specializes in high risk, but I did like him. I now live in Encino, so I switched only because of the commute when I was pregnant with my second. Good luck!

Dr. Bryan Jick in Pasadena is awesome! He is affiliated with Huntington Hospital. Many of my friends go to him and absolutely love him, some are nurses. Check out his website to learn more about him. His bedside manner is gentle and caring and I felt completely comfortable with him. I highly recommend him.

Hi, A.! I have never responded to a question on this site, however when I read your question regarding finding an OB/GYN is Pasadena, I had to respond. I want to give you the name of my doctor. It is Melissa Grier, MD, and her office is located in the medical building just behind Huntington Memorial Hospital. She is pretty young, although I know you said you are looking for someone a bit older. However, based on my experience with her, she is a very gentle, careful, and conservative doctor, and she will take amazing care of you. I know that she is a fertility specialist, which, to me, means she also works with high risk pregnancies. I wasn't a fertility patient or a high risk patient, but she was so careful with me and so thorough with me, that I am sure you would feel comfortable with her as your OB/GYN. I have referred many of my friends to her, and they always call me and thank me for sending them such a wonderful doctor. Her phone number is ###-###-####. If you decide to meet with her, please mention my name to her (C., and my husband's name is Raffi). I love her so much and I feel so blessed to have had her on my side during the most special time in my life, that I want to share her goodness with every woman out there! Best wishes to you for a healthy pregnancy and baby!

Hi A. - I have a WONDERFUL OBGYN, but he is in the montrose area. he DOES do deliveries out of huntington memorial, though if that's close by you. he has been voted best obgyn every year since 2000. he's older, experienced, and has a great bedside manner. he just delivered my little girl who was "frank breech" (c-section) and i will be 38yrs old this june. all the girls in the office are way nice, too! his name is dr. ronald woodard ###-###-####. check him out, i just cant say enough good things about him! p.s. my hubby also thinks he is the coolest!
