I'm looking for an OBGYN. My husband and I want to have another baby. I'm looking for a Dr with the following qualifications: a) someone I can feel comfortable with and feel like I can ask any silly question b) someone open to helping me through morning sickness with medication, if that's what it takes and c) someone really good and experienced performing c-sections. I had to have an emergency c-section the first time and if that's the way I decide to go for this next pregnancy, I want someone that is really good at it. During my first pregnancy, I had terrible morning sickness and was unable to work for about 8 weeks. My doctor told me I was not sick enough to give me a prescription. I know there are medications that can help you through morning sickness and I want a doctor that is open to the idea of using them if I need them! I tend to feel more comfortable with female doctors but would also consider seeing a male doctor as well. I would love any recommendations! Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thank you so much to everyone that responded to my request! Your input was very much appreciated! It seemed that many of you had really good things to say about the Doctors from Pacific Women's Care, so I decided to go with Dr. Stenshoel. She is a wonderful doctor! I really feel like she is there for me and has my best interest at heart. I was hoping to have had a baby by now but to make a long story short, that hasn't happened yet! Dr. Stenshoel has been wonderful supporting me, caring for my medical needs and helping me through a tough year! I guess I was hoping that my "so what happened" response to you all would include a very heart warming story about the DR that delivered my 2nd child. I'm sure that is to come eventually! I definately want DR. Stenshoel to be the one to deliver our next baby! I guess I've learned to appreciate how valuable a great doctor is through both good and bad life experiences! I am so glad DR. Stenshoel is my doctor! And by the way, her support staff, Nurse Jen and Ultra-sound Tech Michelle are also excellent! Thanks to you all for your help! I really appreciate it! This Mamasource website is wonderful!

Dr. Tamera Stenshol, Pacific Women's Center on 6th Street. ###-###-####

She is great! I was told the most wanted OBGYN in town for C-Sections. Also, she delivers ALL of her babies - her Mom's are never passed off to the "Doc on call". I have had 3 children all with different Docs and I like her better than any of them. I am currently pregnant with twins and she has been very understanding when it comes to discussing my many discomforts (morning sickness, acid reflux, etc). Another thing I like about seeing Tamera is the women in her office: from the front desk staff, to her nurse Jen and the ultrasound tech, Michelle, all of the women there treat will you really well. Good Luck and Congrats!

HANDS DOWN DR. BELLER!!!

if you don't mind a guy (I know some who don't) He is the most caring, gentle and really has a love of his work. His nurse is the greatest as well. He has a really soft and calming voice that just puts you at ease. I had 2 c-sections and they both healed great and it was no big deal recovery wise. I had a breached child that wouldn't turn so the two weeks before I was due we decided on a planned c-section with the openess that if he turned before or on the day we would do regular birth and then with my second one I finally just choose to have another one although had the option of doing whatever way I wanted. He doesn 't use staple or stiches on the outside either, he uses this special kind of tape stuff that is really neat. I liked him and his nurse so much that after my second and last baby, I just kept him for my annual visits. DR. Beller is the nicest guy I think you could ever meet. My Husband loved him and his nurse too. They are very professional, yet really fun and likable. They treat you like family and they don't feel ANY question is silly. They are at the pacific womens center on 7th and the number there is ###-###-####. They Also set up meet and greet just to see if you like him first before hand if you want. They will do that with any of their DOcs. I know a lot of people that have gone to him and have just loved him.
Sorry this is so long. I just felt so safe in his care and I would endorse him tell I was blue in the face,
good luck. I know you can do those meet and greets before you are even pregnant too, I did.

Dr Beller is wonderful!
I just had my first little one and was at ease through the whole pregnancy with him. He and Suzanne, his nurse, are a fabulous team. I can't put into words how much we loved him! We did a meet and greet first, and knew instantly that he was the one to help bring our little guy into the world. Pacific Women's Center is a great place - it seems many others are recommending their doctors. Go meet Dr. Beller, and I am sure you will be thrilled with him. We certainly were! Good luck!

I went to the nurse midwifery center in Eugene and they were so wonderful with helping me through morning sickness--they gave me a prescription for it and also had me come in weekly for injections of vitamin B12 which really, really helped me. They also work with OBGYNs in town--so I think they can do your prenatal visits and then have one of the OBs they work with deliver the baby. Just an idea--they were wonderful--and they would probably be more comfortable delivering a baby after a C-section than many OBs.

Dr. Richard Beyerlein at Pacific Women's Center between 6th and 7th by Charnelton. He is funny, caring, gentle, and all around great family man!!!! He's been my OB for just about 10 years. Everyone that I recommend him to - love him. His nurse Tony is awesome too. She is a lactation consultant too.

If you are looking for a woman - Dr. Stenshol (check spelling), she is the one who ended up delivering my son and she was actually pretty nice and I was impressed with her too.

Call them and check them out. ###-###-####. Good luck, I hope you find someone that fits your needs.
