I am a high risk pregnancy and I love my MFM's in St. Pete. After I had my son in 05, they recommended Dr. LeMay in Bradenton but I never actually met with them. I am expecting again, high risk again, and back with my original MFM.
My o5 pregnancy started out with Alvarez and McCullen at Lakewood Ranch. I was not impressed with them. Very friendly, but Lakewood Ranch hosp is not equipped to handle any sort of emergency. Every time I was admitted into the hosptal I was sent out to a different one. If your baby is born under 36 weeks for some reason at Lakewood Ranch, the baby will be sent to a different hospital. In addition to that, the last time I saw McCullen, I was at Lakewood Ranch overnight at 34 weeks for contractions. They released me in the morning and I asked her when I could know when to come back. Her response was, "Come back when you are dialated to 5." He was my 3rd child, and I don't know how to determine if I am dialated to 5. Also, I have a history of short labors. I left the practice after that experience. My son was born at 37 weeks in St. Pete with Dr. Montenegro's group and I was in labor for 2.5 hours.
Good Luck!
