I wouldn't recommend a walker for any infant. They can delay walking and are associated with a high incidence of injury.
We are looking for a great walker for our 7 month old son with a table area and MOST IMPORTANTLY...wheels that will roll easily across carpet. This will allow him to safely wander from room to room.

I don't believe walkers are even sold anymore as they are considered unsafe. Get an excersaucer.
I agree with the other moms that say walkers are not good. Believe me..... My son that is 13 now had an accident while he was in a walker. Thank God he wasn't severly injured, but he did get a really big "knot" with a cut on his forehead that lasted a long time. He was about 7-8 months then. I got so scared that I was in tears. And frantically called the doctor, my husband, etc.
Walkers can tip over. And with all of that bulk, it would affect your baby's natural reaction of throwing out his arms to stop the fall. Even Pediatricians strongly advise against it. Ours did/does. She was angry with us for even using it in the first place.
i was under the same impression as karen about walkers, that they're unsafe, primarily due to the stairs issue.
we went the activity center/exersaucer route with our daughter, and she loved it. we had the graco baby/baby einstein activity center. they can turn a full 360 and there's lots to play with. my daughter's too big to sit in it now, but it still sits in the corner and she'll play with the toys on it.
