Looking for a Versatile Tandem Stroller

I have been researching tandem strollers for months now and had found one I thought I really wanted until I read several reviews stating that their children did not fit the seats, The Kolcraft Options tandem stroller. Then recently I found some others with the specs I was looking for and now I am stuck because a lot have mixed reviews. So what I am asking for help with is, I need a stroller that fits a four year old in the seat as well as out of. I would really like one that has the moveable and removeable seats (Like the Kolcraft). A good size basket for storage that is easy to get to. I dont care about the weight of the stroller, however the size needs to be as compact as you can get with a tandem stroller. I do not want a side by side. (Yes I really am sounding terribly picky) I am also really hoping to find something that has seats that can turn so the children can face one another. And again it really needs to have seats that fit a 4 year old (sometimes we go on long walks and she gets tired). So I am looking for any suggestions on a stroller that fits those needs.

Have you looked at the Babytrend Sit and Stand Deluxe? The only thing it doesn't do is turn the seats to face each other.
It does have the tandem seats, or the sit and stand option.
I'm currently searching for a good tandem option for my 2yo and new baby due at the end of June, so I'd love to hear what you end up with!

Your request sounds just like mine. My children are 18 months apart and off the charts for height so I ruled out the contours even though it does look so nice. I am glad I did though especially after seeing one in the mall. The older child just had her feet dangling off. I looked at the Jane powertrain. It is pricey but I had found a good deal on craigslist. It has mixed reviews too though. I have used one version of the sit and stand and thought it was awkward to steer so if you can I would try to find someone who has one so you can test it out first. Have you thought about the buggy board that attaches to the back of a regular stroller. It doesn't give you the sitting option but at least they could stand if they were tired. I know it wouldn't work if they needed to nap which is why we haven't gone that route either. So far we just use the Ergo and our regular stroller or our older one walks. Good luck!

I just bought a phil and ted's sport for my boys....26 months and 3 months and we love it!! They sell them online or at merry go round baby boutique in Bellevue...It is the best stroller, and well worth the money. We just got back from Disneyland last week, and we saw so many of them, and really BIG kids in them, so I am confident it will last for awhile!!

If you can afford it the best way to go is Phil and Ted, but on the cheaper end and still nice is the Joovy Caboose ultralight. I have a 3 year old and a newborn and it works quite nice.

Have you looked into the sit-n-stand strollers? I don't know how it works with older kids but a friend just got a Phil and Ted tandem and it is really versatile in seating options.

We just got a Graco Quattro Duo based on a friend's recommendation, the back seat for the little one (which reclines fully), the front seat for the big sis. It's kind of a jump seat so she can hop in and out of it easily. It's only a wheel length longer than the regular Graco Quattro when it's folded down--but "taller" when folded down due to the second seat. The friend who recommended it is a "stroller queen" she had two bugaboos and several others before buying a double...

My only downside is it's heavy--but you said that doesn't matter. It pushes very easily and has a large basket underneath that has a handle on the rear of the basket that collapses so you can get in the basket easily.

Seats aren't "moveable" or "rearrangeable", but when we were researching, we kind of figured that we'd find the arrangement we liked and it would just stay that way.

I think the seats facing each other is going to be a hard one for you, the Options seemed to be one of the very few that had that when we were researching. I was very interested in that one as well, but after researching a bunch, it seemed there were a lot of people who were not impressed with theirs.

Good Luck finding the perfect stroller!
