Hi,
I took my daughter to Tender Heart on RT.715 south, coming from Rt.80. If your coming from 209 or 115 if would be 715 north. I really liked them.

Hi H.,

As a mom, Healthcare provider and Daycare Provider/Owner myself, I was extremely picky on where to send my son for actual preschool. I researched for almost a year before I found 4 Kidz Christian Academy & Preschool on RT 209 in East Stroudsburg. They have a new facility, family-like, caring & wonderful staff & really adavanced learning activities. They also offer Full Day Kindergarten there. My 3 1/2 yr old son loves it & I love the staff

H.,

I just finished doing this! My son will be going to Middle Smithfield Presbyterian Church Pre-school, on Rte 209 in Middle Smithfield. I don't know where in Monroe you are looking for, but that's the program I liked the best. It is a primarily socially oriented program for the three year olds, and that is what I wanted.

We are doing Mommy & Me at Little Blessings Nursery School right now, run by Reeders United Methodist Church, on Rte 715 in Reeders, across from the Jackson Township Fire Hall. I love the program, and Mrs. Elmire, who teaches it is absolutely wonderful She also teaches the three year olds.

I've heard great things about Creative Learning Center on Rte 191 in Stroudsburg, as well. They have a program for 2 year olds, and I've the teacher for that is exceptional with the kids. Not one single person I know has had a bad thing to say about that school.

All of those programs are primarily focused on social skills development through the 3 year old program, and work a lot with craft projects, art, and creativity based themes. It's more about getting used to being in a school setting, working with adults other than Mom and Dad, and separating confiedently. All of the skills that will have to be well in hand before "learning" stuff the next year, which is more pre-kindergarten oriented. If you are looking for a more academic approach, then take a look at Academic Learning Center. The reviews I've heard of that one have been mixed, depending upon what the parent was looking for and the gender of their child. There's a lot of sitting at a desk and paying attention from what I've heard, and not surprising, those p[arents who have girls have been happier with the school than those who have boys.

There are a ton of other schools out there, but these are the ones I really looked into. Oh yeah, since you mention Tannersville, no one I know who sent a kid to Tumblebees preschool program was happy with it, and I've heard only great things about The Growing Concern, but that's a 5 day, half-day Montessouri, and like $4,000 a year!! Ouch.

We used the Children's Learning and Academic Center in Stroudsburg on Main Street. Although only a handful of the children attending there was going to go to school with our son, my concern was finding a "good" preschool! The teachers there were wonderful and took such time to teach my son things. He had never been in a group setting outside of our home before and he adjusted very well I think because of the teachers. Within the first month my son knew his name by site, all his ABC's by site and could count to 50. I was astounded at how fast he learned. Another good one I've heard of, but haven't used myself is the Methodist Church in Mount Pocono. My neighbor used that for her little boy and she told me it was very reasonably priced and would recomend for anyone to take their child there! Goodluck!!
