I took my son to Interfaith last summer in the Woodlands and it was a great experience for him. I would still be there but the drive has become to much. It is worth checking out!!
My two children have been attending a local preschool but was wanting to see what else is out there in my area. Any suggestions on a preschool that is focused on teaching and is not just a day care?

I love Abiding Word Lutheran School and Preschool. The staff is wonderful. Most children are reading and writting before they leave the 4 year old class! I know it fills up quickly,
My four year old is just finishing up a Pre-school Program at Kids Kaleidoscope in Spring. They have classes for kids as young as 18 months to Pre-school age. They also have before and after school care, but I don't know much about that. The Pre-school program is great, my daughter has learned so much. I believe they also have a summer program for part of the summer. It is on Aldine Westfield at a Methodist Church. It is across from the HEB, and a large catholic church, Near Treachwig road. My nearly 4 year old son will also be attending next year, and several freinds also send thier children there.
Good Luck, H.
Stepping Stones in The Woodlands is great....my nine year old went there for three years, and now my two little ones are there.......
Good Luck!!
I am a teacher at "The Woodlands Montessori". If you are not familiar with the Montessori method you should come and tour our school. We take children from 18 months to 6 years of age (which includes a wonderful kindergarten). If you would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
My son goes to First Baptist Child Development Center on Grogan's Mill in The Woodlands. This was our first year at any preschool. He is in the pre-K class until the end of the month, when the school year program ends. But one of the nice things about this school is the fact that it is open year-round, Mon-Fri 6:30am-6:30pm. So it's like having daycare convenience in a school-like setting. The more "formal" school time is from about 8:30 - 2:30, but they keep it pretty structured (but fun) all day. Plus, the school is full of good, Christian people. Meals are provided, including breakfast, lunch & two snacks. It goes through kindergarten, and I've heard they have a great summer program for all ages. I would send him back for kindergarten next year, but I have decided to try homeschooling. Here is the website, but it's not terribly informative. There are links to some fee and schedule information at the bottom, but if you're intersted, I recommend visiting them and taking a tour.
