too btw.
Does anyone know of a great place in Dallas that you can donate very gently-used childrens' toys to other children in need? I was thinking of offering this to parents and their kids invited to my son's birthday party as a chance to give back when I know he'll be receiving so many things. Plus it would give parents a chance to get rid of some of their toys in the process without having to seek it out themselves. Thanks!

TRY THE FAMILY PLACE, A charity for homeless families with children; google the web site for more info.
You can also donate to the Children's Medical Center of Dallas. All non-toxic plastic toys such as action figures and dolls will be accepted, provided the toys are new or gently used and can be cleaned with required disinfectants used at Children's. They also need movies and dvd/vcr players.
I read the suggestions already given which are all great ideas. I did want to add that you can give to a church in your community for them to use in their nursery/preschool program or request that they donate them to a family in the community that is in need. You can write this donation off on your taxes if you are interested.

K., I really think that your idea of giving back at your party is wonderful! It gives good insight to the scripture, Luke 6:38, Give and it shall be given unto you.... When you think about it, you're touching and teaching lives at the same time. I promise you will encourage someone to do the same. This is coming from a mother of three who looks forward to their too little clothing. I eagerly pack em up and ship em out to whom ever I can find. As soon as I do so, the Lord sends what we need when we need it. Our closets are never empty!
