Hi. I'm looking for an organization that accepts gently used baby clothing. I do not want parents to have to pay hence I am not donating to our usual nonprofits. Thanks!

What can I do next?

First Care is a crisis pregnancy center that accepts baby clothing also, for girls who come in with a crisis pregnancy. They are a center that offers help for girls who choose to have their babies vs. abortion. I obviously have no idea what your personal beliefs are, but I think they are a good cause so thought I'd at least let you know about them :)

My mom donates to a battered womens shelter. It's up in Palm City, but I bet if you google womens shelter you'd find one down here. The women who go there are really in need, and lots of them bring their kids with them. I give my mom all my donations to pass along to them.

I donate all my used baby clothes to Respect Life. They are a Catholic organization that helps pregnant women. They also accept maternity clothes and baby gear like strollers, bouncers, etc.

I belong to Cafemom & one of the groups there is called Moms Who Cant Afford Christmas for the Kids. It is FREE to join Cafemom. You can ask the woman who runs that group if she'll take donations. This is a group of Moms in need of anything for their kids for Christmas as well as for "Angels" to donate. I'm sure you can work something out or even find a family in need in your area. The exact link to the group is http://www.cafemom.com/group/poorchristmas. There are currently 225 families in need nationwide this year thanks to this economy. Kathy is the lady in charge & she will keep your info private should you prefer to do so. Good luck with your decision!

There is two things that you can do.....On Yahoo in their GROUPS there is a group called FREECYCLE. I live in Wellington and there is a Wellington Freecycle, I believe there is one closer to you. Once you "join" totally free you "offer" your baby clothing and people will write back to you and tell you they want/need it and you make arrangements for them to pick them up from you.....there are TONS of people who really need the clothing you will have it gone by the end of the day!!!

Another option if it is infant clothes is donating it to your local hospital maternity ward. I did that with my son's infant stuff because when I was giving birth I was chatting with the nurses and they told me women go in having babies everyday and have NOTHING at home for their newborns............

God Bless You!
