I'm looking for a practice that is solely focused on pediatrics as opposed to family medicine (if that's available here).

We use Southdale Pediatrics located in Burnsville. (5 min from lakeville) We love it. Our Dr. is Dr. Joan W. and she is so wonderful.
I don't know alot about Lakeville area, but Dakota Pediatrics sounds like what your looking for. They have various clinics very close to Lakeville, I believe. I am a nurse in Apple Valley. There is a great pediatric dentistry group in Lakeville located on Cedar and Dodd Road, Children's Dentistry, or something to that effect, I believe is the name. I have heard really, really good things about them. As for preschool, not sure. I am the president of the Northfield Nursery School here in Northfield and realize that Northfield is a bit of a drive from Lakeville. I have a friend who attends church at Bereans Baptist in Lakeville and I think they have a ton of stuff for Moms' and toddlers both. I think checking with the local churches is a great idea since many of them host preschools, but are not necessarily affiliated to the church. If you wish, you could call me at home anytime. G. I had a hard time finding a pediatric dentist, my daughter has alot of problems with her teeth. All I really found south of the river was a pediatric office in Eagan right off Pilot Knob. I love it there and my daughter has had alot of good luck. The parents sit behind a huge glass window and watch from there that may seem weird but the kids usually cooperate better when mom isn't right there. But if needed I've been able to go and sit with my daughter. I've seen kids get teeth pulled and come out smiling. I can't remember the Office name but we see Dr. Lipschultz and there are a few other's in the same office the number is ###-###-####. I hope this helps.
As far as a Pediatric medical doctor we have always gone to Park Nicollet Clinic in Burnsville, My daughter see's Dr.Devries who is awesome and extremely thourough. I've never waited more than 10min. for a appt. they usually take us right back to the exam room.

My 18 month old daughter has been going to Metropolitan Pediatric Specialist in Bursville since the day she was born. Her doctor is John O'Connell but all the doctor's there are great! For a dentist our pediatrician recommended Children's Dental Care in Lakeville. It's over by Cub Foods. The address and phone number is 17510 Dodd Blvd, Lakeville, ###-###-####. Very friendly atmosphere and since it was our daughter's first time going we were in a private room. Welcome to the area!
