Can anyone recommend a good pediatric dentist in Wichita, KS or nearby areas? I have a 20-month-old little girl who is about to have her first dental visit. Also, can anyone tell me what to expect for her first dental visit? Will they be doing any detail examination/procedures? Any advice to prepare her for her first dental visit? She is timid around strangers, especially adults. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

So What Happened?

Hi Everyone,
Thanks so much for the referrals. I asked around and heard great things about Dr. Stephen Moore, so we decided to make an appointment with him. Thanks again for all your help. This website is such a great resource!

I have taken my two children to Smiles Junction on Rock Road. They both see Dr. Dan Brown and seem to like him. It is a very kid friendly place with a train around the top of the wall and lots of toys to play with. The rooms they go in are decorated with different themes. Ours was an ocean with fish, etc. The first visit was just a cleaning...they will either use a regular toothbrush or they will use the same type of brush they use on adults, depending on how comfortable your child is. Then the Dr. comes in and checks their teeth. Overall, we had a good experience there. I have also heard good things about Dr. Moore, who is also in the same building.

Hi,
We've been to several dentists in the last couple years for our 4 year old. We were finally refered to Smile Junction on n. rock rd. in Wichita.
The doctors name is Dr. Moore. ask for him as there is another doctor there.

He was great with her and great with us too.
She just had reconstruction on four upper front teeth and did great with it.
The place is super fun too for the kids.

Dr. Stephen Moore on N. Rock Road (back behind the Mediteranean cafe) was terrific. He's a Pediatric Dentist. I think his office is called Smile Junction.

We had taken our little one to several dentists and she was developing a raging case of Dental-Phobia, but the folks in his office are wonderful with the little ones. He draws animal faces on the guaze face masks he wears - so cute.

If you live on the east side I can absolutely recommend Dr. Aaron Huslig in Andover. That's who my daughter and I go to - but he doesn't take medical cards which is what our girls have for health care or we would stay here in town for all of us.
