I work at Meadowview School in Mesquite which is for students with learning differences so that probably doesn't pertain to you, but we have a lot of families here who have other kids that go to Dallas Christian and they absolutely love it!
we are looking for a new school for our 7th grader in the upcoming school (2008-09).unfortunately, we had to pull him out of the school in heath where he was attending . we have looked at Lakehill and was very impressed . does anyone have thoughts on that school or recommend any others ? thanks for all thoughts and comments !!

I've been doing my research for a while on private schools in Dallas, and my top two with numerous recommendations and personal friends that attend or have attended are 1) Covenant; 2)Trinity Christian Academy.
I hope this helps!!

K.,
If you looked at Lakehill, I am assuming that having a program that is staunchly religious is not really a high priority for you, which will allow you more options. We looked at Lakehill and liked it as well...although for us, we felt it was a little small and lacking in some of the types of "cool" courses you might find in other private schools...plus the sports teams are really lacking in resources. Anyway, another school we looked at was Greenhill. LOVED IT. It is a tad more expensive than Lakehill, but the school is really great and I have only heard great things about it. The day we went to the open house, Mark Cuban's wife (Mavs owner) was there to enroll their kids. Anyway, just another one to add...although the other trick will be finding schools not already past the app deadline...
Hi, K.!
We've attended Canyon Creek Christian Academy in Richardson since my oldest (now 16) was in kindergarten. We now have three kids in the school, ages 16 (sophomore), 12 (7th grade), and 8. We've been very happy there.
The teachers are great & the administration is very down-to-earth and approachable. The education is strong & they continue to look for ways to improve. It has been such a blessing for them to attend a Christian school. They're required to learn a lot of scripture & then are taught to apply it to daily life. My oldest son wants to be a youth minister or a missionary--awesome.
They are offering new student discounts for next year (they've never done this before)--$600 off the cost of tuition for the entire year ($300 per semester) & for every returning student, there's a scholarship for that, too; so if you guys are happy at CCCA & plan to return the following year, you'll receive a discount. That's an ongoing program, starting next year. Because the economy has hurt our enrollment (so many people have lost jobs, moved, etc.), they're trying to increase our enrollment numbers. Tuition is very competitive & we have a full sports program, band, etc. It's a K4-12th grade, although they offer a discovery school as well. I have three boys (actually 4, but the youngest is 3), so the sports program is important to us.
Anyway, I've said much more than I meant to--hope you're awake! Feel free to call me if you have any more questions. The school's number is ###-###-#### & is located at Custer & Renner. Andy Wright is the headmaster & the one you'll want to ask for. He's a former pastor/youth minister, teacher, etc. He has one son in college & a daughter in high school. He's one of the nicest, most godly people I've ever met.
Hope this helps! :)
Blessings,
S.
