Hi K.! Welcome to Oklahoma. I too am a Michigan transplant (Rochester) but I've been here since the early 90's! I had a daughter in November and went to Dr. Williamson at Tulsa Women's Health Care(he is associates with Dr. Nilson mentioned earlier) and he is wonderful! Acutally all the doctors in that practice are great. I have had friends that have used the other two docs. and just LOVE them. They provide ultrasounds at each visit and are just wonderful people. Dr. Williamson only delivers at St. Francis now (I delivered at SouthCrest but I think I was one of his last patients there).

St. Francis or SouthCrest are both decent hospitals, in my opinion. I have heard pro's and con's at both. We had a nice expierence at SouthCrest but I feel like we were ignored some of the time b/c we weren't needy! No big deal though! I also had friends deliever at St. Francis and loved it.

As for a pediatrician we use Dr. Narrin at South Tulsa Pediatrics and she is pretty good. I don't love her but by no means dislike her. She's pretty to the point. We saw Dr. Freed when my daughter was first born (Dr. Narrian was out of the country) and he was very nice, I almost wish we would have just stuck with him! They have a website southtulsapediatrics.com and also offer Sat. morning appointments.

Good luck!!

Edited to add: Birth and Beyond Pediatrics (Dr. Sood) and Tulsa Women's Health Care (Dr. Williamson, Dr. Nilson and Dr. Sterling) are all in the same building at 101 and Yale! That might be something nice to know too!

I would use Dr. Heather Summers, her number is ###-###-####. She was there for me for my first, which passed away 12 hours after he was born, and for my second, who is a healthy STRONG 3.5 month old!! She is an amazing doctor, very personable and remembers your name and just about everything about you. She has 2, 3 year old twins of her own and her nurse has been with her for several years. She is also very personable and remember almost everything about you. Trust me you won't go wrong

K., I LOVE Dr. Summers with Contemporary Women's Specialists. I was having a normal pregnancy until 7.5 months and ended up having an emergency c-section at that time. I spent 8 days in the hospital and she was there every morning whether she worked or not to check on me, that meant alot. There are 3 other doctors in the practice whom I've heard wonderful things about. Dr. Razden actually ended up delivering me and she did a great job. These doctors only deliver at St. Francis (61st and Yale).

As far a Pediatricians i use Dr. Sanjiv Sood. He was a NICU doctor for 25 years before opening his own private practice. There website is www.doctorsood.com. You can get a same day appointment and I like how he treats and talks to my son.

Hope this helps. Goodluck

I gave birth to a baby girl on August 30th of last year and she was born at Southcrest and my docotor was Dr. Robin Cox. She was absolutley wonderul. I had gestational diabetes and had to go to a lot of appointments with her and a specialist and every single time I went to see her she has happy and very attentative to me and my husband. She let out other two daughters come into the ultrasound room when we found out we were having a girl and she was very good to include them and make sure that they understood what was going on. Also my birth experience at Southcrest was terrific. I highly recommend Dr. Robin Cox.
For a pediatrician I recommend Dr. Surash Bharani. He is located on Aspen almost to 101st. There is no way there is a better docotor out there than him. Everyone, and I mean everyone, I have talked to that has him loves him to death. Good Luck in your search and my the lord bless you with a healthy child and an uncomplicated childbirth experience.

Our family OBGYN is Teresa McHenry - we just love her! She has an office at Southcrest and would be convenient for you. If she is not taking patients, ask them to recommend one of her associates. They're all good.

I just read a recommendation for Dr. Soon. Great choice too.

I love my OBGYN. Her name is Jennifer Donnelly and she is in a practice called Tulsa OBGYN ###-###-####. The practice physicians are all really nice and their staff is great. They also have a specialized physician for high risk pregnancies. Their practice in located on the St. John Medical Center plaza. I go there because it is closest to my work in midtown. However, St. John is a FABULOUS place to have a baby. My daughter was born there and the care and facilities are amazing. I will have more kids there I am sure.

Pediatricians: South Tulsa Pediatrics. ###-###-####. I also live in Broken Arrow and their offices are located just west of hte intersection of 91st and Memorial, so down south. Their practice is great. My daughter sees Dr. Dawn Mayberry but all the physicians in the practice are great. They have Saturday hours, great nurses, triage care right there in the offices, etc. They are affiliated with St. Francis Children's Hospital, the only children's hospital in town and it is a brand new facility that just opened last fall.

I highly recommend both places. Welcome to Broken Arrow!!

my daughter's first pediatrician was Linda Murphy. She was wonderful. We moved to another state before she was a year old, and recently moved back to Tulsa. We're now seeing Jerry Freed at South Tulsa Pediatrics, who we chose partly because Murphy's office is no longer where it was a few years ago. Either of them would be a great choice!

As for OB/GYN and hospital... I haven't seen anyone since returning to Tulsa, but Cheryl Razdan delivered my daughter at St. Francis Hospital, and I really liked her.

My husband and I had a wonderful expericne at South Crest delivering our boy almost 20 months ago. The labor nurse was just wonderful and the rooms were clean, nice and roomy. (My friend delivered at St. Francis and her room was like a small closet and she didn't get any attention from any of the staff after she had the baby). After I had him we moved to an other really nice, clean and large private room. Plenty of room for family and friends. The staff was always availible when I needed them.

As far as Peditrician we use Dr. Alka Soon at Birth and Beyond Pediatrics at 101st and Yale. She has been so wonderful and her nurse is really great when it comes time to giving shots. I have heard that her husband Dr. Sanjiv Sood is good to and we have seen the other two in that office and have never been disapointed. They have a great web site http://doctorsood.com/ It can tell you more. And if you are a computer nut they have an online NurseLine where you can submit your info about baby and your concern and they will call you pretty quickly about what to do. I use it and love it!

I personally use Dr. Trisha Parks. She is part of Contempoary Women's Specialist in the Kelly Building (across from St. Francis. She is great. I like how she just treats you as a friend and she was awesome delivering my son.

Hope all this helps! Good Luck!

Welcome K. to Tulsa~

My first choice for peds is Dr. Suresh Bharani. He has been in practice for 25 years in Tulsa. He has privileges at all the area hospitals. He is just a dream. If he isn't on your insurance. I would go with Dr and Dr Sood. They are a great couple and are booth SUPER docs. Dr. Jerry Freed is also good.

As for Obstetrics. I would choose St. John's for doing any hospital care. I find I get this best care there above any of the others. My second choice is St. Francis. ( I have been a cancer patient and have been to all the are hospitals).

As for a OB, Mine recently passed away and I am switching to TUlsa OB/GYN at ST. John's they are all terrific. You can't go wrong.

I"m Sure you'll need a dentist and internist etc.

FOr a dentist, I wouldn't go to anyone other than Corbin VanBrundt. He has a family dentistry so he can treat the little guys too. Super great guy.

FOr Internal MEdicine. I recoment. Edward Taylor and Paul Hendrix at st. John's. Super people.

Good Luck
