I would try the Juice Plus thing. I haven't taken it myself, but have heard good things. My childrens pedi sells it and takes it and so does the secratary in there and they really like it, coming from a doctors point of view.
Hey Ladies,
You have all been so wonderful about helping me out before that I thought I would see if you could do so again. This isn't anything big, but I'm looking for good multi-vitamins for both my husband and myself. Do you have one that you love and would recommend? What about your husbands? I used to just take my prenatals (even after the birth of my babies) as they were cheaper with insurance than paying for regular vitamins. Then my insurance changed and I've not been able to find one I like since. My husband is also in need of one, but I don't even know where to start when it comes to vitamins for men! Any advice would be welcome! Thanks so much!

We love the One A Day Energy. My husband was so pleased I started taking it, and now my daughters do as well.

We use Glacial Milk brand Complete Nutrition, it is a 32 oz.liquid with vitamins, minerals, amino and fatty acids, and herbs (no sugar added). It is $20 at Sams Club and $40 at health food stores.
Phytomatrix by a company called Mannatech. The vitamins and minerals are easily and more absorbed in your body (as you notice sometimes your urine is yellow or smells like minerals- a indication that your body is not absorbing the minerals). There are clinical trials studies on this product. They also have a chewable version of these in a berry and lemon flavors.
I shop through a wellness company called Melaleuca. My husband, children, and I get our vitamins from there. You can check out the website, melaleuca.com, and if you would like more information I would love to help you!

There's a product called intraMAX, which is a liquid combination of vitamins, minerals, essential amino acids, etc. It's manufactured from a local company - Drucker Labs in Plano. You can Google it to learn more, but it IS expensive. (I don't want you to start researching it and find out that way.) Typically, it costs in the neighborhood of $80 a bottle, though you may be able to find it for less. Depending on how much of it you and your husband drink - there are different protocols you can follow - one bottle may last three-four weeks. It's worth the cost, but, again, it's not cheap. I hope this is helpful!

Hi H.,
I am a Shaklee Independent Distributor and I take Shaklee Vitamins. So does my husband, my two children, etc. I truly believe in them. A straight multivitamin I would recommend (assuming you are under 50 years old) is
Vita-Lea (comes with or without iron depending on your needs. It is very unusual for men to need iron). Shaklee just added vitamin D to their multi's too. Very on top of the latest science. Follow this link and please contact me if you have questions. I'd be happy to help.

If any of you are still looking for a good vitamin, then I have the answer for you, watch the "medicine man" with gean connery, and then go to my site, the doctor that the movie was made after did safe his vitamins from the government changing the properties, and we have them where anyone can get them now....www.veonatural.com/C. call me if you have questions leave a message if you don't get me...###-###-####
I take the Equate Women's One Daily and my husband takes the Equate Men's Health Formula One Daily from WalMart. Our doctor said they met our needs well.
Natural vitamins are always best. There's Juice Plus, Standard Process (handled by chiropractors), Nature's Source, and other brands handled by reputable healthfood stores. There's a great on-line store called Swansons that has very reasonable prices. Talk to a knowledgeable person in your local healthfood store and you'll learn a lot. Personally, I don't recommend One-a-Day. They are synthetic and minimum daily requirement dosage.
Alive! multi-vitamins (currently on sale this week at Sprouts for about $17.25) are comparable in content to a lot of pre-natals. They are made using as many whole food and natural sources as possible and you know they are easily broken down and utilized by your body because the B vitamins turn your urine into that bright fluorescent shade within about 20 minutes after taking them. (The label claims 5x faster absorption than most leading brands) In addition to the standard vitamin and mineral blend, they contain Green Food/Spirulina, Amino Acids, Green Veggies blend, Orchard fruits blend, Mushroom defense blend, digestive enzyme blend, Omega Fatty acids, and a citrus biflavinoid complex. I found that these were the ONLY vitamins I could stomach during the early parts of pregnancy--I literally threw up everything else I tried from the doc. I'm not trying to turn a profit or anything. They are just really great vitamins.
I second Shaklee! When my family started taking them 20 years ago, we no longer spent our "quality" time waiting in the doctors office.
Hello H.,
I would HIGHLY recommend Juice Plus. My daughter and I take them and we never seem to get sick! Good luck in your search.
we've been using the multi's from the vitamin shoppe for years and love them!!
My husband and I have taken various kinds of vitamins for many years. This year I found vitamins that are natural and have the best absorption rate. I started them and within 2 weeks I was calling a friend who recommended and telling her I have never felt so good. In the past when taking vitamins still had that down time in the afternoon when felt like I needed a nap but not with these. Also in the morning I feel more refreshed such a huge difference.
The difference in these vitamins and other vitamins is a complex that prebinds the minerals to proteins similar to how it works w/ plants. Here is a link for info: http://www.oligofructosecomplex.net/
These vitamins are with Melaleuca which is a natural, eco-friendly company that has a multitude of other products, but the vitamins are probably the best they are known for. They have what they call a 3 month challenge in which you can try the vitamins for 3 months and if you don't believe you feel better then they will totally refund your money.
Sorry to go on but I could talk for hours about these vitamins. Let me know if interested. Thanks.
My husband and I both take Melaleuca's Vitality vitamins. I've been on them for about a year, and can tell my energy level is better. Plus, I had a cold about a week ago (first since starting the vitamins) that only lasted 2 days. I've never recovered that quickly from a cold before; usually sniffle and cough for a week. I'm sure the vitamins have something to do with that. Their ogliofructose formula is patented and provides superior vitamin solubility. Check them out at melaleuca.com. A little pricey (you get a break if you become a preferred customer), but worth it!
Kudos to you for wanting to take care of yourselves. Your bodies don't just belong to you, but to all of those wonderful kids (and someday, grandkids) who love you so much! You'll be glad you gave it the best you could for all those years.
I confidently recommend Shaklee vitamins. The vitamins and minerals are from all natural organic sources, never anything synthetic. The daily values for all ingredients are very high and the amount of vitamin D is above the current daily value, based upon the most current research. There is a basic multivitamin called Vita-Lea (with iron for women and w/out iron for men or postmenopausal women) and there is broader spectrum vita-pack available called Vitalizer (6 pills in a daily pack, includes Vita-Lea), so people can pick their level of intensity. The children's line has high daily values and probiotics.
Here's a clinical study that shows people who took Shaklee vitamins have better indicators of health than people who took a daily multi or no multi at all. www.landmarkstudy.com and www.clinicals.shaklee.com
Here is the link to Vita-Lea. The 240 capsule bottle comes out to $13/month retail. Additional discounts are available. Please msg me if you have any questions. http://gethealth.myshaklee.com/us/en/products.php?sku=20269
I think it is a shame that insurance will cover a medication that treats a disease and has side effects but won't cover something that prevents diseases with NO side effects!
Hi H.,
I have taken many multi-vitamins on the market as I have an immune deficiency. I finally found the Life-Pak, and it is so good. It has a Nano technology that even helps with absorption problems. There is a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied - the company is that sure of the vitamin.

If you are interested in trying it, let me know. I can help you get a price that a distributor would get, but you don't have to sell it.

Hey H., we have used Nutrilite for years. It is also used by many international Olympic athletes... that tells you how strong they are. It has the same all natural quality that other posts have mentioned and the absorption is good as well (you don't just pee it out later). I'm not trying to push a vitamin just because I am selling it either. I have nothing to gain if you use it or not. I am always wary of advice based merely on the fact the someone is pushing their own product on here. (though they may actually be great products). All that to say Nutrilite has been great for us. Research it on the web. Best of luck!
hello saw your post..im J... first i commend u in trying, and searching to take care of your family in a pro active way, so many people are just set in thier ways, and think good thougths.. taking it for granted, and health by chance..
well, it doesnt work like that most of the time, esp with us destroying out natural resources like we do,i discovered a product a cple years ago, that will make up any nutritional imbalances u need, addreses health concerns, and wil boost immune system, and work more effectively than any multi- vitamin, ...... let me give u my name and contact info, please check out website, i know this will be of great value and u will be impressed by the research.

HI. I just wanted to let you know about the vitamins I take. I take the ones from Melaleuca. I LOVE THEM!! I have never had so much energy, don't get sick. I also give them to my DS 3 he takes the kids line & he does great with them. He had alot of anemia problems. He took the other vitamins out there & they never worked, these do. There is a mans line too. A months supply is at lowest 19.99 for the month. The kids line is I think 17.99 for 2 months.
My husband and I take the same vitamins so it makes it easy we order them online and they also have something that men can take to fix prostate problems here is the website I highly reccomend these we feel so much better when taking them!

Hi H.,
You are smart to be looking for a quality supplement to bridge the gap between the nutrition we know we need and the amount we get from our food each day. Sometimes it's a small gap; other days, it can be a cavern, right?
I am so pleased to have found out 4 years ago that isolated vitamins/multi-vitamins are not the answer. What our bodies need more of is WHOLE FOOD NUTRITION. We need the 10,000's of vitamins and minerals found in fruits and veggies. That's why the American Heart Association and American Cancer Society recommend eating 7-13 servings (1/2 cup each) EVERY DAY. The challenge is, almost nobody does this!
The answer I found for my family is to put the fruits and veggies into capsules or soft chewables. Either way, we get all the nutrition of 15 fresh, raw fruits and veggies plus 2 whole grains. We have had incredibly good health ever since! I love it so much I decided to market it so other moms could find out about it. Fruits and veggies contain all the nutrition needed for men, women and children so you don't have to look for different products for each member of the family.
Here's the link for more information: www.goodhealthmadesimple.com. When you order through me by Nov. 29th, you'll get a $10 rebate per item ordered. This is a deal I'm offering for my Mamasource peeps - not available through the company.
Email me if you have any questions or would like to hear about the Children's Health Study program where I can sponsor your child to get his/her product for free when a paid adult takes it with them.
I congratulate you on taking responsibility for your family's health and wellness!
Blessings,
M.
P.S. I am building a team of 5 Champion Mamas earning a six-figure income with full benefits for their families over the next 2-5 years. Want to be one of them? Call me at ###-###-#### for details!
H., Central Market and Whole Foods are great sources for getting great vitamins! If you live in Plano, The Herb Mart located at Coit/15th is also a good place to get info on great vitamins. Also, Doug Kauffman at www.knowthecause.com is a great source for information about supplements. I prefer natural because they're easier on my stomach.
H.,
I work for a company that offers vitamins for both men and women that are more absorbable than anything you will find at a health food store or grocery store. Email me at ____@____.com and I'll get you more info.
Thanks,
K.
Hi H.,
We have a couple of favorite multi-vitamins that I could recommend to you. GNC has a good one for men and for women--it's GNC's brand and you have to buy the men's and women's separate, but my hubby and I really like those. If you buy them on, I think the first Tues. of the month or something, you can get 20% off. Also, There is a liquid vitamin supplement that we LOVE, called To Your Health. You can look it up online or find it at some natural food markets, etc. I really LOVE that one. Seems to absorb better (from what "they" say) and I felt like it gave me a lot of energy. I'm not taking it now b/c I"m on a prenatal, but I will start with that one once I"m off prenatals. The good thing about it, is both you and your husband can take the same one and you can make it last a little longer by not taking the full amount if you want. Hope that helps!
Dear H.,
Essentials For Life is what I would recomend. What ever you take you need to make sure they have cades devilery system are all you are getting is expensve uiran. These are put out by Infinity2 go to
www.infinity2.com/garrett
click on nutrition and you should find them. Good luck.

I have always used the generic version of One-a-Day, both men's and women's. They seem to have everything you need and they're not very expensive. In addition, I also take the generic of Citra-Cal + D to get the extra calcium you need. You won't get enough from the vitamin alone. You need at least 1000 mg per day, but your body can only absorb about 500 mg at a time.
H., my whole family have been on Reliv Nutritional Supplements for ten years. My daughter had great result with eczma and very healthy and active at school, my husband avoided surgery with lower back disc issues and I with migraine.
We take the Reliv nutritional supplement which is bioavailable for optimal apsorption and efficacy. Synergism of all the nutients, minrals etc. you can go to http://foryourhealth.reliv.com and read on it. The supplements come with 30 day money back guarantee.
You will see a night and day difference within that 30 day time that you will want to continue taking it.
Best wishes!
A.
I strongly reccomend Arbonne's vitamins.
Some of the benefits are:
- The are enclosed in vegetarian caplets.
- Cold compressed instead of heat compressed so does not compromise ingredients.
- Standardized - so it has the same amount of each ingredient in every capsule.
- formulated to digest in 30 minutes (the number 2 thing found in septic tanks is undissolved vitamins - so you're paying all that money and not even getting the benefit of the ingredients)
- formulated specifically for gender (men's has extra capsule for health prostate, women's has 2 extra calcium tablets, and also vitamins for teens with anti-stress adapting agent and powder for kids)
- no animal products or by-products.
If you'd like more information, I'd love to share it with you and show you how to get them at a deep discount.
Thanks!
M.
Hi H.! I recommend Juice Plus or any other whole food vitamin.
My advice is NOT to buy anything from Melaleuca. Their oligofructose compound is not a new thing. They use clever marketing to make you think you are getting a pure product. I bought into it for 5 years, so I am well aquainted with their tactics.
Whole food vitamins are the way to go. Anything to buy at Wal-Mart is only going to deliver a FRACTION of the vitamin content that it lists on the label and you will literally be flushing your money down the toilet.
Hi H.!
Wow, you have already gotten a lot of great suggestions! Im going on a big vitamin kick, too, and have gone back to a great multi: Nature's Way Source of Life. I get the liquid vitamin, but they also have tablets and capsules. They include not only vitamins and minerals, but green foods and whole foods for support of whole nutrition. They arent cheap (liquid is about $22-30 depending on where you go for 30 day supply), but the online store for Vitamin Shoppe has the best price I have found and offer discounts.
Good luck!
A.
I would very strongly recomend Juice Plus. There are a few thing up front I would like to say. 1)it is sold mainly by individuals (can also be bought online https://www.juiceplus.com/nsa/content/Welcome.soa)
2) There are a few better things on the market, but they are liquid and I can't stomach it.
Juice Plus is a capsule that is taken with 8oz of water. The consept is that we dont eat enough fruits and vegetables. If we did we would not need vitamins. Also what we have access to is not very nutritional fruits and vegetables.
It costs about $50 a month per person, but worth it. The tablets are worthless. Every studie has shown that your body cannot digest hard packet tablets. That and mosst vitamins that are in present aren't compatible with our body either.
They even have gummies for children.
Hope this helped.
I also recommend Shaklee multis. Their research is solid and way ahead of the curve.
Good morning, H.,
A great source for good vitamins of all kinds is the website www.vitacost.com . I buy the multivitamins called Alive, made by Nature's Plus (an excellent nutrition company). They are very complete and if you buy them through the website, you can get a 2 months supply for about $22. I have tried many vitamins over the years and there are many good ones out there, but these are the most complete and cost effective ones I have found.
Congratulations on recognizing that good nutrition is the foundation of good health.
B. G. (mother of 8, grandmother of 4)
My husband like Centrum Performance or Centrum Cardio. I take regular Centrum (when I think about it). I am much better with my supplements of liquid d3 and B12.
I do purchase the Centrum brand, no generics.
I also drink DanActive daily.
We both take Rainbow Light vitamins.
They are great! A lot of vitamins give me an upset stomach, but these don't bother me at all. You can find them at health food stores like Central Market, Whole Foods or Sprouts. I've been using the prenatal onses since before getting preg with my daughter...I can't remember which my hubby uses. But we are both happ with them.
