I am just wanting to get some suggestions on a good brand of blender. I am looking for one that especially crushes ice well for summer drinks. Not too expensive or anything fancy. Just something I can pick up at Target or Wal-Mart.

What can I do next?

We have an Oster, and we've had it about 7 years now, and it still crushes ice well. It is glass, too, which is nice.

I have a Quisinart Smart Power Duet. It's a blender and food processor in one. The blender has a glass jar, and does a fabulous job with smoothies or crushing ice for icee type drinks. I liked that I could get rid of two appliances in favor of just one. If you don't need or want a food processor (which is great on this one, by the way) then I'm sure quisinart sells just the blender. The duet was around $80 at Bed Bath and Beyond and Linens 'n Things. I got mine online. You might find it at Target.com or Walmart.com as well, but I don't think you'll find it actually in store. Target does carry Quisinart, I believe, so they may have a single blender in store from them. Good luck searching.

I have a kitchen aid that is great! They are a little more expensive, but worth it. Wait until you get one of the little 20% off coupons for bed bath and beyond...i think they are good on the blenders.

In college I worked in the home department of both Macy's and Dillard's, and the Oster beehive-looking one always got good reviews. The most important thing is to look at the blade and where it attaches, because the better, longer lasting ones will have metal, not plastic.

I have a wonderful Kitchen-aid blender that I love. Sadly, we moved and I can't find it! It does a great job crushing ice. (I think it's around $80).

I also got a Magic Bullet for Christmas and it's great for making blended drinks. I don't know how much they cost.
