Hello! My daughter will be turning 3 this December and I would like to get her signed up for Preschool. I am looking for something that is everyday and all day long. We live off 291 and 435 and would like to find something in the Liberty school district. I am really not even sure what to look for in a Preschool program or what even to expect cost wise. Any advice would be much appreciated.

What can I do next?

I live in Sugar Creek & my husband & I take our daughter to Spectrum Station Early Learning & Family Resource Center. They're located at the west entrance by Ameristar Casino. I'm not sure of the price, because my child hasn't turned 2 yet, but they have programs thru Kindergarten level. It really is a great place! They have a website, if you wanted to check it out, spectrumstation.com. They welcome referrals; just tell that Frank & L. LeMay suggested them to you. Good luck with your search!

S. there are several in the Liberty area...
LaPetite.com
creativeworldschool.com
kindercare.com
They are all located in the town of Liberty. One I know personally is the creativeworld were the little boy I took care of since he was two months old goes now. His parents are very satisfied with the school. His sister went there also. You may need to get on a waiting list for any of these and may not be able to start until next school year. Most of preschools have waiting lists. Sometimes you can get in mid year and sometimes you can't. But get on a list now. I teach at a preschool that is part-time and we have a waiting list for all age groups. Sometimes we have openings mid-year, but not always. Research each of the schools and go visit them, make an appointment to tour the school. They all let you do that. Good luck and God Bless.

Hello:
My daughter has been a teacher for a long time, most recently in Liberty. She now has a daycare/pre-school in her house. Her name is Candace Price ###-###-#### if you want to contact her. She is excellent with children and she does teach them, also.

What you need to decide now is what your goals are. Are you looking for a way to give your daughter an academic head start? Are you looking for a way to get her used to being away from you without starting with a full day? Is she in a daycare that teaches her now?

I've seen a number of children go through my home and learn a lot before school and yet their parents would put them in preschool even after I worked so hard to give them their headstart. Those parents do it because they just feel it's expected of them.

I've also seen kids go through my facility with obvious learning deficits and needs that I was not trained to work with. Those parents decided to do nothing and let me keep them until they started school at age 5.

There is no one sized fits all solution here. If your child is capable of following most directions, gets along well with other children her own age, respects authority and isn't clingy and needy, then she probably doesn't need a preschool at all. But if you think she is behind in her pre-k academics, or has other needs that your current provider can't help with, then just start interviewing and see what you think when you see them in person.

Personally, I feel these kids have their whole lives to learn and that pre-k is too early to push them so hard. I don't think our country is behind because of a lack of early childhood education.

We are behind for many reasons. At the top of the list is that we have taken discipline out of homes and schools. Compared to many other countries our children are basically undisciplined, rude, and spoiled with major entitlement issues. To add insult to injury, they are being taught by teachers that in many cases are unable to cope because they are faced each day with all these children that have terrible attitudes and they don't have the backup of decent parents that care enough to get involved or make their children obey in the classroom.
