Looking for a Family Dr.

We just moved to town recently, but my husband had a rather sudden onset of back problems. We saw Dr. Gothelf @ Desert Family Medicine, and he had a fantastic bedside manor, listened to the problems, and actually ordered all of the tests and prescriptions we needed to get him through it (as opposed to the dr. we had seen in urgent care who basically prescribed painkiller and said "come back in a week if it still hurts"). Haven't seen the other doctors in the practice yet, but I'm sure we will soon enough with kids and winter sports coming up. Desert Family Med is at GV Pkwy & 215.

I go to the Wickler family practice on Pecos and almost the 215. They have 4-5 different doctors so there is hardly ever a wait. There is one female and 4 males I believe. I think hou should try dr. Erick Wikler his office is on Pebble and Pecos or 215& Pecos. It's a family paractice he also share the office with his brother Abraham wikler. I love him he is nice understanding and listens to your concerns and he makes sure he does his job well have only been with him for2 years going on 3 and I have nothing but good thingsto ssay about him. if you would like to check him out let me know and I will give you the number. I am also searching for a new primary physician myself. I have not yet made a decision as I have to wait until after my baby is born, otherwise I have to get new referrals to all the doctors I am currently seeing. I will share with you the steps I've made to narrow down my search. First check with your insurance plan (for e.g. I have Aetna Insurance and they have a list of doctors on their website) and see what doctors accept your insurance. Next, narrow down the list by doctors who are in Henderson or in the area you currently live in Las Vegas. Finally cross check with St. Rose Dominican hospital website http://www.strosehospitals.org, and click on Find a Physician for a list of doctors they recommend. Once you get those referrals make sure the doctors on the list are (1) Board Certified (2) member of the American Medical Association http://www.ama-assn.org

You should try Dr. Rebecca Peters. She is located on Wigwam and Pecos. Her number is ###-###-####. She is great and my entire family (me, my husband and 9 and 6 year old sons) has been going to her for a couple of years. We never have a long wait and she is wonderful.
