We are new here and are looking for a place to go to church. We have visited Oak Hills and really liked it, but we would also like to try a smaller church. Non-denom., methodist, or baptist.
Lots of people like CBC, Community Bible Church off 1604 and Gold Canyon.
Try Resurrection Baptist church. I had the same problem as you.. looking for the right one, however, I went to this church and I really liked it.. hope you will too.. the address is 1002 Live Oak Road Schertx, Tx 78154 check out www.myRBConline.org good luck..
Try Journey Fellowship on I35 and Shertz Parkway. It is the old Bluebonnet palace. It is a satellite for Oak Hills (my family attends Oak Hills). They are vibrant and growing and everyone that left Oak Hills to go start it - has stayed. I have heard wonderful things, even though we have never visited. We talk about it and then don't go.
Also, Oak Hills is looking to 'plant' another satellite in the 1604/281 area in the very near future so stay tuned!
We have several friends who attend CBC at 281/1604 also and they love it there. If we were not already members at Oak Hills and very happy, that is some where we would visit.

I do not know how far you are from universal city, but there is an awesome, small, non-denom church there that also has a private school free of charge. If you get a chance go check it out it is called:

My sister and cousin go to Wayside and love it. It is over off of 410 and Blanco area. Not too big, not too small. I go to a small church, non-denom at 602 Oak Knoll - Gatherings in Jesus' Name in Ingram Mall area. www.gatheringsinjesusname.org
