Hi you Wonderful Moms out there,
You have always been pretty helpful so I come to you again.

Do any of you Moms know of anyone involved with a (wonderfully blessed) ministry called "Growing Kid's God's Way?" I would love to put my children especially my 4 year old in a Co-Op associated with that ministry as I did my daughter in CA. If not, I would love to find a Home based Co-Op Preschool that is Christian based to put my son (4yr old)in once or twice a week. Even possibly something for my daughter (9) who I Home School would be awesome!

Also, can anyone recommend a Christian based Charter School? What can you tell me about Eagles Aire School in Gilbert. It sounds good our neighbor sends their daughter there. I like what I am hearing. High on Morals and Character. They are big also on Good Literature which I love! Plus they teach them to horseback ride which my daughter really wants to learn how to do. Can anyone give me their honest opinion both positive and negative of this school and any others they can recommend. My heart is to still homeschool right now but I am looking at other options.

Thanks so much and "Merry Christmas".
A.

I haven't heard very many good things about Eagle's Aire (I live right by it). They don't focus on math at all. I heard the kids have to do it on their own, and math is an important thing to understand and can be very frustrating if the child doesn't get a good foundation in it. Also, the founder of Eagle's Aire used to be a teacher/administrator at the charter high school I graduated from and he had a falling out with the principle and left to form his own school, Eagle's Aire. He was a nice guy, but odd. I would go check out the school with scrutinizing eyes.

You might check out www.greatschools.net. You can read parents comments, see test scores, etc. I've found it very helpful when researching schools.

Hello, If you are new to the area, another great place to get connected is through HERO. It is a homeschool newsletter that goes out to about 1500 homeschooling families in the Phoenix valley. It would also be a great place to post this question. The website to get signed up is www.happilyeducatingourown.org Welcome to Arizona!!

If you have any other questions about getting connected we are in a Christian support group (EVCHE) and also in a PE coop that meets twice a week. ____@____.com

There is also Crossroads Nazarene Church they have a home schooling network. I knew a friend years ago that took their kids there and were happy. I don't know much about it anymore. They are in the Price /Ray area I believe. You may want to check them out too.
Here is their website, though they might be a drive from you.

We took "Growing Kids" We loved it, but remember to consider circumstances. I think sometimes being a growing kid parent it's almost like we would demand respect and that pushed them farther away. We can do it in love but sometimes it's easy to get carried away with listening the first time and we can easily forget to get to the root of why they are misbehaving or not respecting (usually because of a hurt or a bad day, but if we are not listening it's easy to miss (just sharing a little of my experience). I think I needed to listen more and demand respect less. It's a great program if used properly.

Hope that helps.

FYI.. I'm pretty sure that Eagles Aerie is a 'mormon' school. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but just thought you'd want t know.

My friends husband teaches at Eagles Aire School in Gilbert and they send their children there as well. I have heard that it is an awesome school, and they do a lot of wonderful extra curricular activities. IF it were closer to me I would consider sending my children there.
