I am a single mom to two children an 8 year old boy and a 6 year old girl. We currently have a babysitter, who we love,; but she recently told me that she will be moving in a couple months out of state; so now I need to find a new sitter for the kids. All of my friends have older children; or have family members who watch their kids (I don't have any family here)so they aren't good sources of finding a sitter. So I'm needing suggestions of good ways to find a reliable responsible person who can watch my children.

Do you go to church? All of our babysitters are kids from our church and they are all awesome.
I offer daycare in my home in IL. A lot of providers here, including myself, post on sittercity.com and care.com. Craigslist is also a good place to try. With all 3 of these sites, you can search available sitters, or you can also post an ad searching for a sitter. What's nice with care.com and sittercity.com is that some of the providers have already completed a background check that is avail for potential families to see.
