Hello. I just found a small rug at Meynards for $1.28....It is a multi-colored rug about 3 feet X 1 1/2 - 2 feet. Hope this helps.
Hi Ladies,
I am a big fan of Jon & Kate Plus 8 and during a few of there shows I have seen a 'Time Out' rug. I thought that was a really cool idea and have been looking for one ever since. I have not looked to much on the internet (not a big fan of buying stuff online, I like to see it in person) but have looked at a few stores.
Have anyone seen something similar in the stores? I know I can just get a cool rug anywhere and use it but I really like the idea of having the words "time out" otherwise the rug will end up being use for other things.
Thanks for all your suggests!
K.
Thanks for all suggestions... I think I am going to buy a cheap rug and some craft paint and make my own. If the 'time out' rug works for my daughter and feel like my rug is too 'ugly' I will buy one online. (But as an artist I hope I can create a cool rug).

Cool idea....find a red octagon shaped rug and paint stop on it...hmmmmmm.
I love Jon & Kate Plus 8!
I haven't seen any time out rugs in person, but the the rugs that appear on the show are from www.timeoutspots.com.
I hope this helps,

i watch jon and kate but hadn't seen the time out rug.. cute.
we used place mats that you would use for your table settings. i could easily role them up and put them in my diaper bag to take with me.. i suppose you could make your own timeout words on it..
maybe someone has seen the actual rug you are looking for. that's a good idea.. now i have just reverted to the step..lol
if you can't find one you could buy a carpet remant and paint (maybe with stencils) the words "Time out" on it with acrylic paint.
I've haven't seen a time out rug, but I was watching Supernanny this week and saw something that I hadn't thought of! The parents were using a rug, and the kids would just push the rug all over the house! The parents couldn't get the kids to stay in one place when they were in time out! So, this is just a thought. Before you go and spend money on a rug, make sure that your daughter isn't they kind of kid that would think that it is fun to move it around. (Although I do like the idea of being able to take it with you when you go places if necessary. :)) Supernanny solved the problem by just putting an X with tape on the floor. At my house we just use the corner of the laundry room when we are upstairs, and the bottom step of our staircase when we are downstairs. It's nice to have a spot that the kids can't move! I just thought that I would pass that on. It never crossed my mind that a time out spot could be used like a magic carpet!
I'm a big fan of Jon and Kate Plus 8 too!

I haven't seen a rug but I have seen a Time Out chair that is really cute. It is at Roberts Crafts if you live in Utah... if not, they do have an online store. You might check local craft stores in your area. Not sure that helps. Good luck in your search :)
Just get a small rug and fabric paints and make your own.
