Lipoflavonoids for Tinnitus?

About 8 months ago, my ears started ringing. I had been swimming the previous weekend and thought maybe I just had water in my ears. But the tinnitus hasn't gone away, so I mentioned it to my doctor and he suggested I start taking lipoflavonoids. I've been taking them for about three weeks and haven't noticed any difference yet. In the reivews I read for lipoflavonoids online, most people said they had relief within the first couple of weeks.

Has anyone else tried lipoflavonoids for tinnitus? Has it worked for you? How long did it take? It's a pain trying to remember to take them 3 times a day, so if I'm wasting my time, I'd like to know sooner rather than later.

TIA!

What can I do next?

It depends on the cause of your tinnitus on whether it can be of any help to you. My husband has tinnitus in one ear for almost 30 years due to physical trauma. Lipoflavonoids can't undo or help with that.

You need to be seen by an ENT, not a regular doctor.

I've had tinnitus for 40 years or so. I can tell you it's possible to get used to it so that you're usually unaware of the sound.

When I first was aware of it the doctor prescribed a diuretic suggesting that excess fluid in middle ear could be the cause. He recommended drinking less water also for a few days. This didn't help me. Mine is caused by nerve damage from firing guns on the range without ear protection back in the day when we weren't aware of the danger.

Hi K.,

Upon first hearing, lipoflavanoids sound like a natural approach...I see no ingredient in the "supplement" that increases blood flow. One of the things that is common in causing ringing in the ear is damage that keeps blood from flowing properly. Ginkgo Biloba is know for increasing blood flow. I had ringing in the ears for a while and then started taking a supplement a completely different reason, for my heart, that not only included ginkgo, but grape skin and grape seed that restore elasticity to tissue (which can be damaged by the lack of blood flow). The occasional ringing in the ear has gone away completely. I've seen other "side effects" of this supplement as well. Not only female issues but my skin looks so much younger than before as well.

Hope this helps!
M.

Unfortunately, I've dealt with tinnitus for over 20 years.

It can be caused by many things, including taking OTC medications like aspirin and such.

I hadn't heard that it can be helped by lipoflavonoids..... I may research that, also.
